A few things.
1- Go to the Video Archives(westernbass.tv) and look for a video on New Hogan by Johnny C. The Spook Man(Sorry John I was going to put your last name but I could tell I was butchering it so I put it like that) He has a very good video on there that I think could help you out.

2-Make sure you have a pop-r or some shad sized top water plugs. There are TONS of striper in that lake that boil all over the lake and that will be a very good way to catch them.

I hope this helps!!

My first advise would be to go somewhere else

We camped there last weekend and it was one of the toughest bites I have been on. There were no striper boils and the top water bite was dead. I threw everything I had in the boat at them and could not buy a strike.

My wife and buddy each picked up a small spot on Sat. Ds. ing a baby brush hog.

In a last ditch effort I threw Cornishes rootbear senko into a blowup and picked up a small spot on Sunday morning.

I did graph a lot of fish in the lake. Water temps were around 78 in the morning and 82 in the afternoon. It was hotter than hell on the water and I've never seen the lake lice as bad as they were on Hogan. The sheriff was on constant patrol and most of the day his siren was going chasing someone down the lake :)

I live around the corner from the lake, son and I fished the last four hours of the day mid-week finding good fish of poppers, frogs and flukes. The morning top water bite is short, but with good fish in 2-4ft on spooks (trick is to land it on the shore and bring it out) where there is no grass. After that drag a jig or drop-shot. good luck. Stripers are inconsistent to date.

:D I fish this lake a lot (live 10 min away) try coves on of west side wrinkle cove ,look for rock with no weeds. Use sencos or brush hogs, dark colors seem to work best. Jack
