Hey Stan V. - Nice Guiding Job!

Post by tunaman »

I saw the picture in this week's WON of Bob Taft's double-digit bass - way to go!

For those who haven't seen (or won't see) it, Stan Vandenburg took Bob Taft to Casitas where Bob hooked his new personal best. Bob is the owner/operator of the sport boat Top Gun 80, and is a heck of a skipper and all-around great guy. I've fished with Bob a few times now, and am looking forward to getting out with him again and razzing him about catching dinks!

Crap... heading for the Open on the 20th, and am tapped on funds and vacation time. Thanks, though - last time I was out with Bob was on a 4 day at the 'Lupe, and it was a kickass trip! We whacked the bluefin and bigger albies pretty good on the offshore, hit 'em (yellowfin and yellowtail) pretty hard at the island, then got another whack on the albies on the way home. Bob and Scotty were a blast to fish with - tell them 'tunaman' says hey!

And if anyone is interested and available, you should really consider filling one of these spots as you will have the time of your life. Oh yeah, and the fishing is just OFF THE HOOK right now!

Good Luck at the Open.
I wish I was fishing it. I had it in the date book for Sept and they changed the date. Now I have a family trip in the middle of the open dates after I get back from the ocean. So ... next year.
Best Wishes for Big Fishes
