Why the removal of Number of Postings

Post by Marty »

Been catching up on reading posting on WB, been gone for few weeks and noticed no numbers of pass postings.

Does anyone know the reason for this – did it come about because of the Community Meeting which I missed?

First the Signature now the number of postings. Looks like we are removing the personality and character of the individual who makes the posting or answers the posting.

My guess for the reasoning behind removing total post count, is due to the few that post solely to raise that number. At least that's the reasoning behind the removal of post count on most other forums.

The post count removal was brought about by the members from the community meeting. It was discussed and agreed upon that this needed to happen. You will be seeing a few changes over the coming weeks as we implement some of the suggestions.

Thanks guys.

Gator is there a list of the changes? Are they major or minor? Do we get our Signature block back, I did like reading some of the saying, I hope that is one of the changes.

There are several things about the site in general that were discussed. One thing that became clear is that the folks wanted to see stricter forum moderation adhering tightly to the forum rules. To that end we are attempting to add more, new forum moderators. Not much else about the forum in particular.

Site wide folks would like to se more contests and more nutcase type of events. Specialized use of the Chat Room feature to include special guests and regularly schedule times for chats including a Tournament Talk type of chat for folks that wanna talk about the previous weekend's events. It was stated several times that people would like to see better search functions to the forums, classifieds and such. WE also heard that folks would like to see more 'on the water' footage from westernbass.tv and it was asked whether or not folks could submit their own self produced footage and the answer is most certianly 'yes', to be run on bassfishingtv.com.

Those are some of the topics discussed in the community meeting as well as the need to schedule more such meetings online.

Thanks Tony,

Sorry that I mss the Community Meeting. I like the idea of a special guest hosting a Chat Room Q&A, in fact I believe that is a unique concept. Do you have a list of names of Guest?

No, we haven't a list of names yet. We're working on the chat room software first. Got some problems to iron out before we can bring on guests.
