Lamiglass Very poor Customer service.

Post by lippy »

I had a buddy with two broken rods one of them was the reel seat epoxy came loose and the reel seat spins.Well i call and talk to a gentleman about this and he said to send it back and they will take care of it,The reason calling first was i heard from a bunch of people that they will rape you on cost.So anyways he sent them inn and now they want for the one with the reel seat loose is 100.00 bill and the other was like 137.00 dollars.

My opinion this is not a good customer service,With lies and charging even more to get these rods back.

I have broke three Lamiglas rods, and they took good care of me. It cost me 20 bucks for shipping only each time. You should ask for a manager that sounds ridiculous.

I have a lami rod in which several of the guide eyes have come out, I called and got the same service, so I didn't bother sending it in. They would not give you any info over the phone the just want you to pay to ship it to them pay for the repairs and pay to ship it back. I also have a different lami whose butt cap flew off into the water while I was fighting a fish. My buddy also has the same reel seat issue. I will never buy another Lamiglas. With loomis at least you know it is $50 no questions asked which is basically the cost of shipping the new rod to you and the old one back, and there are no other repair or replacement fees even if you slam the rod in the car door.

My neighbor snapped a rod in about 1/4 down and was told the same thing 20.00 for shipping 80.00 for replacement 100.00?

Loomis does the advance exchange program for 80.00

I told him forget it for 130 you can get a new rod

$80???

Check the loomis web site, it is $50 or $65 if you want express shipping but since they are close the standard shipping gets here in 2 days. And that's for a brand new rod

I've had 2 lamis where the epoxy on the reel seat didn't hold and the reel seat spun around. In both cases, it was considered a manufacturer defect and they replaced the rods at no charge.

I've broke 3 or 4 rods due to my negligence and they've never charged me more than $50 to replace the rod.

Something doesn't sound right. I would talk to a manager too.

My uncle recently when to Galaxy Marine and they had a whole rack of Lama's with the tip eye missing the ceramic, they had them still marked at $80. He told them he would give them $20 for one. They said no, he offered em 25 and they took it. 7'9" pole for $25 not to bad all it needed was a tip. This was his second Lamaglas pole. The first one he had got a broken tip, happened setting the hook on a fish, pretty bad deal when the rod was only 2 weeks old.

Don't know who all you guys are dealing with but it is pretty simple. Send the rod in with $20.00, new or repaired rod back to you within a week. I have NEVER failed to get this kind of service! I have had ceramics come out, guides come loose, rod tips break (most of them my fault!) and rods break at the handle. I have NEVER received any hassle! I have NEVER waited more than a week for return of the rod!

Are you going through a dealer? I would find out who is actually charging you for the repairs because Lamiglas does not!

For close to $130, you can get you a nice NEW POWELL and NOT worry about that type of BS.

Hope you get it worked out and good luck!

Falcon says just cut out the label on the rod, mail it in a regular envelope, with single stamp, and the send a new rod for $30.
And they're made in the USA.

Sure glad I custom build all my lamiglas rods myself so I know I won't have a problem with spinning reel seats and the cost of a blank is way less than a factory rush job.

Lippy please put your friend in touch with me through a pm and I will try to help him with these rods. I am a Lamiglas pro staff member and this is not the way they handle customer service.

Not sure why you were calling the factory if they were not your rods but we should be able to help him either through a local dealer or sending the rods in. This is not the standard from Lamiglas and he should be able to be taken care of.l Please have him pm me or drop me an email and I will be happy to help him out with his rod replacement.

Same here I sent in my rod a couple weeks ago, they called me and said it would be another 80 bucks , so you end up spending 150 on the initial purchase of the rod then 100 for a the replacment.
Ive sent in many rods to many different companys and 80 is the steepest price Ive come acrossed. I opted to get my old rod sent back to me and went and bought a diawa product to replace my lami. Diawa along with shimanno have replaced my rods for just the shipping fee.
