I dont know anything about Piru but im sure you could call the ranger station to get an update on water quality.

I was there a week ago, Debris is all gone, Lake is still about 3/4 full, still using steep ramp in Reasoner Cove which really slows things down on the weekends.
Make sure you are Clean and Dry, they are inspecting every boat unless you have been inspected and tagged by the Staff on a previous trip and they are sending people home who are not clean and dry.
Bite was a little slow but you can scratch out a few crank, jerk and drop shot fish.

They really check to make sure you ropes are dry, and your livewell is clean and dry, and your compartments are dry. I stop at the church at the bottom of the hill, and open my live well for the drive up, just in case. And I leave a towel in it to absorb any water that might bounce back up from the plumbing.
