When would you have your Brother-in-law visit - July vs. May

My Brother-in-Law just went home after a 12 day visit. We fished 11 days and had a great time. However, we're looking at May 2009 for a return visit to see if we can catch better numbers and bigger fish. I'm not sure about better numbers, but am more confident about size.

Anyhow, I see FLW Stren is late May 2009 and Walmart Series is Sept. Want to avoid any large tournaments in the Delta

Does anyone know of any large tournaments next May in the Delta? Also, interested in all opinions about which time of year is better for bass fishing the Delta.
