R.I.P. Walter

Post by SHAFT »

Caught a fish on my lucky Snag Proof Frog [ white with black dots ] maybe a 3.5lber nothing to brag about , I got it to the boat and had one hook in the fish and the other hook had 10lbs. of weeds on it which spread the two hooks apart about an inch and caused a tear from the hook hole [ Anis ] half way up the belly . I had caught 30 to 40 fish on this one frog largest maybe a 6 to 7 lber. and just tuned it up the night before , sharpened the hooks , used my Mend-It to fix a small anal tear it was lookin good . I tried to fix the tear again this morning but there is only so much a guy with a bottle of Mend-It can do . R.I.P. Walter you will be missed and our memories together will live on forever .

Dont get rid of him yet. I have the same "Favorite Frog" and I resurected it. Take a sewing needle, some 65lb braid, super glue, and 5 minute epoxy. First stitch the belly up with the braid. After you have stiched it, lay the tag end flat and put some super glue on top of the braid. After the super glue dries(about 5min) get some 5minute 2-part epoxy and put that over the braid and super glue. I did this to a frog last summer and have now had it for about 3 years(this is my 4th season with it) and it has caught me over 100 fish!!

Here are some picutes of what it looks like. I also had to replace the weight. To do that I just mashed down some lead and put it back into where it goes and filled that up with epoxy, then covered the weight in the epoxy as well.

Jason C. , you have a gift my friend , had I had known I would have had Walter med·e·vacked to your facility . Basstamer I tried flushing him , he wouldn't go down , he swirled around and around half floating every time he came around and I saw those little green eyes it broke my heart .

DAMMIT SHAFT! Your killing me bro-the eyes lookin back atcha as he circled the bowl-just too much for me.....now I am all bummed with flashbacks of him trying to grab the side as he swirled! So then I guess that means you stuck your hands in the turlet to get him out??? Remind me to not shake your hand if we ever meet!
