I didn't get a chance to watch the....

"I'm more Christian than you are" forum between McCain and Obama. How'd that go?

Are you referring to the forum at Pastor Rick Warren's Saddleback Church?

It was not about who is more Christian than the other - it was about the issues!

As usual, Obama was tentative, vague, stammered through his answers and was simply wrong on every issue.

LOL Marty, you always make me laugh. I grew up around a lot of people with minds like yours in a small Minnesota farming community so I understand you. :D

Greg,

Kids like you when growing up in your small little white farming communities would not even give me the time of the day lest of all even be willing to talk to me. You don’t know nothing about me, who I was or what I have done or would do. You write and think with a broad stroke!

You may think you have everything figured out and that is what makes you a danger to yourself.

Greg,

LOL - It has been a little slow as of late, even up on top in the fishing forum. I’m in Texas as I write this (two hour difference and I can’t sleep).

Let me spice it up a bit – I’m reading two books!

1. “Outrageâ€

I really don't think either party is better than the other to run the country. My ideal party would support this platform.

Guns
1. No record keeping on ammunition sales.
2. Gun shows sales follow same rules as Gun Shops
3. No fully automatic weapons allowed except by special permit following lockdown rules.
4. No new gun legislation.

Abortion
1. Women have the right to choose under current guidelines.

Energy
1. Develop more nuclear power plants rapidly we need peak load energy
2. Put no limits on offshore drilling except distance from shore.
3. For allowing more drilling require Oil companies to contribute to research for alternative sources focusing on electric cars and fuel cell hydrogen powered cars and trucks
3. Stop ethanol production completely. Its a waste of time and effort Make farmers grow food.
4. Work on developing a rapid transit integrated system that would supply both long range and short range travel on and near the coasts and inland highly populated areas.
5. Let farmers get paid for creating methane energy. (Currently they cannot charge for methane energy going back into the grid)

Education
1. Hack deeply into school administration budgets and use the same money to supply school materials and teachers. Revamp the school system.
2. reorganize school administration. Make it 1/3 the size it is now.
3. (investigate this) After a thorough background check and gun training allow qualifying teachers to pack .38s in school.

Health care
1. Overhaul health care. Doctors aren't making all the money. Take the profit out of health care. Get rid insurance companies that are robbing us. Let doctors make more - we need to encourage more people to become doctors.
2. National health care plan. So it sounds socialist? I don't have a problem with that.
3. National dental health plan.

One last chance for illegals. Anyone working here for longer than (N) years and has paid taxes and hasn't been in trouble can apply for citizenship. Then get proactive and try to round up everyone else with a reward system and build a damn wall if necessary. Do something. Allow seasonal entry for a workforce if needed. Details could be worked out between the governments.

I'm tired. How many of these stances do you dislike?

Thats pretty surprising Greg, I thought you were a hard-core Liberal and then you post something like this. It sounds like you are only selectively Liberal. Are you in danger of becoming a good man?
Guns
1. No record keeping on ammunition sales.
2. Gun shows sales follow same rules as Gun Shops
3. No fully automatic weapons allowed except by special permit following lockdown rules.
4. No new gun legislation.
Agree - Agree - Agree (although semi-automatic's should not be regulated) - Agree
Abortion
1. Women have the right to choose under current guidelines.
Disagree. I believe that there are circumstances where abortion should be legal, but it should not be a form of birth-control. Late term, or partial birth abortions, should be banned. We should elect a president who will appoint conservative judges that will overturn Roe v. Wade so that the decisions will return to the individual states. If California votes for unrestricted abortions then they can have them... If Utah makes it illegal, then so be it. Lets take the power away from the Fed's.
Energy
1. Develop more nuclear power plants rapidly we need peak load energy
2. Put no limits on offshore drilling except distance from shore.

5. Let farmers get paid for creating methane energy. (Currently they cannot charge for methane energy going back into the grid)
1. Agree
2. Agree
3. Agree
4. Disagree... Public transportation will never work for our economy and way of life.
5. Agree

3. National dental health plan.
1. Agree
2. & 3. Disagree... Health care is not a right! Besides, look at the efficiency of the DMV, do you really want the government running our health care system?

Agree and disagree. Those that have worked here for (N) years should be able to apply for a work visa, and then go through the legalization process (the same one that everyone else has to go through) If they have committed ANY crime (other than illegally entering the country, tax evasion, etc.) then they should be sent home. Seasonal entry is a good idea. NO ANCHOR BABIES... Norplant for all immigrant females... Mandatory! Build the wall... GOOD! One more thing... I believe that there should be a health plan for immigrants (legal) where they are required to pay into the health care system prior to using it. All illegal immigrant visits to the emergency room should result in a bill being sent to the mexican government. Also, lets send the Mexicans a bill for the cost of incarcerating their citizens.

No Semi Autos shouldn't be "regulated." however I think background checks for any gun ownership is okay, but its gone far enough.

As far as:
Public transportation will never work for our economy and way of life.
Our economy and way of life is changing rapidly. Our transportation system needs to change with it. The more cars we can get off the road, the better.

Your immigration idea is more thought out than mine. I agree.

Why? What do you have against cars? Its so easy to say "lets get rid of cars", but are you going to give up your car or your boat. I will not! I use my truck for work and my work takes me all over the bay area. Clearly, public transportation will not work for me. Most people I know are in the same situation. Mass transit is a good idea in a large metropolis like San Francisco but it will never work for Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Contra Costa, or any other spread out counties.

How about we get rid of the diamond lanes. That would solve many problems.

That happens sometimes when people start talking about issues and leave personalties out of the equation.
