Over the last few years there has been more and more gang style turf fights there. So it is no wonder people stay away. I have not gone down for the last three years. It used to be worth going, but I just do not feel that way anymore. BIll K

Used to be that way at the LA County Fair... got really unruly for a few years, until they got enough badges onsite to maintain order.

It is now a pretty mundane place to hang, especially given the number of folks they get there every day.

Fresno Fair used to be bad but the PD here took the bull by the horns on this one. Everyone gets wonded with a metal detector and patted down. There are a serious amount of officers on foot patrol. Gang attire or tattoos are not allowed. Beer sales are strictly enforced and it has been a blessing. Everyone came back to the fair last year with not one incident making the news. Nice job Fresno PD.
