Its a political problem. Not nearly enough wardens to go around. The ones we have are busy chasing quagga mussels.

Enter an FLW tournament. They are constantly running at that time. Guess they figure guys running around in 60k boats will be keeping short fish.

Sad but true. I was stuck behind some guys a few weeks ago while they unloaded their rental boat. The staff at the dock said nothing while these guys were showing off a number of illegal fish.

I have never been able to keep my mouth shut when I see something wrong, and I wasn't going to start that day either. Of course it did no good, as the fish were dead and from the responses I got, these guys saw nothing wrong with keeping small fish.

It's a shame, but as Robert mentioned, when those of us that want to protect and preserve the resource are out in numbers, we'll get boarded. It's happened to me several times on several bodies of water.
I had to come back...I know...

Hey on the subject, if you want some real good humor try calling caltip. You'll get transferred a few times and then they will claim to take a report. I've called it a half dozen times in the last year or so with nothing to show for it. Last 2 guys I came across in Big Break caught about 15 stripers between them in about an hour on minnows, I rolled up on them and asked whats up. They had the ever popular "you no fish game" reply.
