Donating tackle/ reels?

Post by fishnuts »

Does anyone know of a local reputable organization that accepts used tackle and fishing reels to be used for kids or anyone else in need?

I have some older reels that are still in good condition but it's not really worth it to try and sell them.

Any help is appreciated!

Where is "local"? There are some good organizations here in San Diego.

Sorry about that, good point.

I'm in Riverside but the greater Socal area is what I am shooting for.

San Diego would be great, can you help with some contact info.

Thanks.

Maybe some Riverside guys will step up. If not I will get in touch with an officer with the San Diego Bass Council. They have a youth club that runs a good sized organization. Also Chollas lake has many youth events that could use the gear. I believe Bill VanLeuven of Barnacle Bills tackle in Spring Valley organizes many of the events. Thinning our collections of last years hot baits is something all of us should look at doing. Good Karma coming Trever!
