Who gonna win the Open?

Post by Rick G »

I am going with the "Legend" Mike Folkstad. Hope he knows the offlimits areas! lol Also, how many boats ended up fishing? Rick G.

Rick, you always pick the Legend! I'm sure he'll do fine. I've got to go with a "Legend" owner, Ed Rodriguez. 84 boats is what I heard.

My neighbor John Kerr. Maybe he will get his ring quicker for this win.

I might be wrong, but Mike has won the Open what 3 times now, so when the bite is brutal, like it sounds like it is, he is always tough. Besides he has been there for 3 months practicing. Roy Hawk is my other pick. 85 boats is what I hear. Rick G.

Heard Mike hasn't caught a limit in 3 weeks of practice Rick, but you know that doesn't mean anything. Mike is about as good as they come. I think Aaron will be tough as usual. Also, I like Morrow and Newman to place high.

Deejay Evans...
He's a friend and local who smoked the competition in WON teams this past season, and earned AOY. He's a phenomenal stick on Mead. Plus....He's the underdog. I'm usually a fan of underdogs in most sporting events.....LOL

GO DEEJAY!!! w00t!!!

Damn straight they ain't!

Lemme rephrase that....I should have said, "I'm usually a fan of underdogs in most sporting events...EXCEPT WHEN THE LAKERS ARE INVOLVED!"

Which BTW...Is the only sport that matters besides bass fishing, if you weren't already aware....Hahahahahaha

Also....
Congrats to Kobe and Team USA for bringin' home the gold in Beijing!

I never ended up making it out there, but I have to give Aaron, Shaun Bailey and Justin Kerr my vote. One of those three should do it.
P.s Thanks for the vote Brian wish I was there.

I'm with Murph on this one - E-Rod!

He knows Mead as well as anyone and he always goes for the win (no playing it safe for Eddie).

My other pics are (assuming they are fishing)
Roy Hawk (Roy can win anytime, anywhere!)
Jamie Cyphers (Jamie always does well in the Open)

My sleeper pic is -

gosh i hope he wins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you dont even know how bad i want it for him, let alone how bad he wants it for himself. my figers are crossed for you bro. He said its tough, but he was real quiet. I think i know what hat means... but its mead. Day one usually dont mean nothin at the open. Day three is where all the moves are made. This should be great! Get em Shaun!

Alex deejay didnt get in, but if Roy hawk is there, I expect him to do it. He is awesome on mead when it is tough. This rain today and the cloud cover for the morning might mess things up for some guys though.
