Need Help From Delta Experts
Just watched the John Fox video on Bassfishing tv and have a question for you guys who really know the Delta. Speaking on barometric pressure, Mr Fox said bass move up (shallow) on low/falling pressure. He was referring to lake fishing. What happens on the river when the tide is outgoing? The bass don't want "skinny" (as Cooch would say) water over their heads so they would move out (deep) right? So, on a low pressure and a low tide, where will the fish move? Or, are they as confused as I am?
Appreciate any input.

Hey whazup
I think your making it more difficult than it needs to be. The tide is going to dictate the depht and location of the fish more than the falling pressure. I have caught solid fish out of water less than 2ft deep. The barometric pressure that is raising is the one that I pay more attention to. Just remmber that no matter what the tide (current) positions the fish.

There's an article on sanjosebass.com from Cooch talking about barometric pressure and outgoing tides.

*NOTE* this is all in theory.
Low pressure usually means rougher weather ahead. Pre-frontal is the best time to get em' in my opinion. High tide I fish tight to cover unless the water is 70+ then I am fishing a little deeper. Bass as we all know tend to come up shallow in the morning and the evening. I personally think the moon phase is far more important the the pressure. You combine falling pressure and a good moon phase and it is on like donkey kong. Now keep in mind I have caught big fish in 1 foot of water when it was 105 out and the water temp was 77. Then turned around and got one in the middle of the slough in 20'+. Who knew?
