What does Obama think of Gun Control?

Post by Rod Martin »

Up untill he started running for Pres. He appeared to be for total gun bans, now from what I see, he talks about a middle ground . Has he really changed? I vote pro 2nd. I feel without it,none of our other freedoms are really ours. Just something waiting to be taken away. Is he the man for me?

It is a matter of record,( repeatedly) that Barack Hussein Obama opposes the right to bear arms as we know it. He has waffled on nearly every issue that he has addressed or voted on during the past three years.

Up until his second run for president Al and Tipper Gore were on the very conservative side of the abortion issue.

Biden introduced the Brady amendment and has the #1 anti gun honors but Obama is a close second having served on the board of the Joyce Foundation and was to be the President of that esteemed anti gun lobby prior to running for POTUS. Definitely going to try to take the pistols and semi auto weapons.

With out a doubt Nobama is a gun banner. His record and past statements proof it.

"I think it’s a scandal that this president (Bush) did not authorize a renewal of the assault weapons ban."
Illinois Senate Debate #3: Barack Obama vs. Alan Keyes, 10/21/04

"I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manufacturers lobby."
The Audacity of Hope, by Barack Obama, 2006

"I think we have two conflicting traditions in this country." (gun ownership and restrictions on guns)
Politico, 2/11/08

"There was a discussion today about a law that has just passed in California that allows micro-tracing of bullets that have been discharged in a crime so that they can immediately be traced," he said. "This is something that California has passed over the strong objections of the NRA…That's the kind of common sense gun law that gun owners as well as victims of gun violence can get behind."
Baltimore Sun.com Feb. 15, 2008

"And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Obama's remarks at a San Francisco fundraiser on April 6 2008

Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sports shooting. (United States Senate, vote no. 217, S. 397, July 29, 2005)

Obama voted to uphold local gun bans and the criminal prosecution of people who use firearms in self-defense. (Illinois Senate, SB 2165, vote 20, March 25, 2004)

It is rare that I chime in but I couldn't let this pass with out putting in my .02 in. Beware of Nobama, he does not really support sportsmen or the 2nd amendment.
