Tunaman (Roger) and any who have these units....Care to weigh in on them? Worth every dime? Still getting used to it ? Never go back to traditional? Can't read it? Wasn't worth the money? If you had to do over again would you go with more features or less? What features work best for you and which are not needed? What unit do you have and why that particular unit? What has time told you so far about these units? I guess I am just plain curious about them and honestly have not had the time to investigate fully the line and what they offer. Looking to gain knowledge from your experiences so far.

Hummingbird Side Imaging 1100 Series

Worth every dime and then some! Easy to adjust to, and I love the Navionics Platinum chip in it as well. Until Lowrance comes up with competing technology, Humminbird has the definite edge. SI is incredible technology and a real advantage, especially on the big screen.
I made no bones about being dissatisfied with the 797 for SI, as the screen is just far too small for subtle details. The 1197 rocks and is mandatory equipment in my book. The sonar and GPS features are solid as well. I really like the color schemes on the sonar, and doing side-by-side comparisons with my 38C (mounted on the bow) it is at very least comparable, if not a little bit better.
Don't have anything negative to say about it whatsoever. You'll have to come up to the Delta for a demo!

Re: Hummingbird Side Imaging 1100 Series
Just some side information.
Head over to YahooGroups and find the group name "sideimaging". I have been subscribing it for few months now. Sign in and review archive messages.
Most people complained over slow GPS response where you can miss your waypoints. I'd rather wait next year when Humminbird comes out with a faster GPS antenna.
Of course, sideimaging is the best tool a bassperson should have.
