Puddingstone night tournament

Post by MCSPIN »

Mark and I took 2nd with 18.05 on saturday night and the winners had 21lbs. It was probably the toughest night Mark and I have had out there. I know our weight does'nt show that, but 3rd place had 11 and some change.
I caught the first fish on a crank which took 2 hours into the tournament to get. I caught the next fish believe it or not on a Black and blue flake long McSpin tailspin. I told my wife I was going to take two with me and try one, and on the first cast with it I caught a 4lb fish. I caught the next fish when Mark ask me to through a Jig by a bouey because sometimes the fish are on the anchor. Sure enough I got bit and it was a 2lb plus fish. Mark had the next fish on a Jig so I changed to a black blue red flake Jig with a Yamamoto black and blue trailer and caught a 7.36 fish 1/2 an hour before weigh in (which was 2nd big fish). We had 5 bites and 5 fish but it took all night to get them.
Just to let you guys know, John Demonet caught all his keepers Saturday in the Top Stick on my Red Craw Tailspin. I don't know how he did on Sunday with it. These baits work all year around and not just in the winter time. So guys remember that these baits are a good bait for all seasons.

Yeah it was a hell of a night. Crazy to see a guy go to the scales infront of you with one fish that weighed more than 75% of the fields entire bag. Just glad I made the 15 min drive home from there instead of the 60 min drive back from Castaic. Anyone have any idea when they plan on posting the results?
