BASS elites to come in 2010? WTH?

why wouldn't you want to fish clear lake and the delta every year to start you season? wasn't clear lake nominated the best bass fishing lake in the nation with the cali delta in a close 3rd?

I wonder how BASS got 2010 dates already? The DFG Permit Draw for 2010 isn't until July of 2009 ? Or are they just going to muscle their way in like FLW?

correct me if i am wrong, but wouldn't the elites coming to stockton or clear lake be a benifit to county revenue? in this dwindling economy, i would think it would attract spectators from all over norcal and help the cities hosting the events to draw in some much needed income? BASS shouldn't mind it so much because they are going to make money regardless. majority of the pro's might hate the drive, but not all fans are from the mid and east coast.

Since ESPN is driving, and TV is the major revenue generator, it makes sense to have tournaments where big bags will be weighed.
I just don't understand why they wouldn't come out here every year.
The costs to drive out for two tourneys should be feasible. Especially if they make it a swing back through Amistad and Falcon.
Start on the west coast, swing down through the south, and finish back east.
A national tour.
What a novel concept!

What is the point? The FLW will just change some events to right on top of the Elites which will screw some local org out of its T.O.C.

Whatever it takes to bring them here is worth it..They are the sport..You can not calculate the dollars the elite series brought to Clear Lake after that show.

Johnhy's right.
You can't have it both ways.
Everyone cried when BASS left, now they're crying when they come back.
They left a void that no organization out here, or group of organizations, like WON, ABA, AC, NB, 100%Bass to name a few, took the opportunity to fill.
If they had gotten off the dime, and created a regional TOC fishoff and championship at either Clear Lake or the Delta, they could had drawn enough boats, and enough sponsors, to make it a big deal, like the HBC has done.
But they didn't, so I think tournament anglers should be glad BASS is coming back. And if FLW steps up and counters with their own tourneys here, so much the better for the local vendors and economies.

After walking around Lake Port and running into all the big names here and there was like a bass anglers dream. I'm glad they don't come every year. It's a cool treat when they do come out west. Nothing like eating dinner and Mr. Clunns having dinner a table or two away, or how about bumping into the Hack while hanging out at Tackle -It. Yea, I'm glad they only come around every other year.

How about getting our local pro ams aired on our local channels? WON Bass? Anglers Choice? Federation? West Coast Bass? Kornys new circuit? I would much rather watch the up and coming, some of the best in the west are probably the best anywhere. Might as well support our fisherman out here. Mike

BASS has not received permits for 2010. GW is correct, no permits for 2010 will be issued until July, 2009. The second Friday in July, 2009, to be exact.

How do I know, because I am the one who puts the permit draw together for DFG.
