2009 BASS Central Opens

Post by CharleyA »

Hey adventurer's with plenty of time and money to waste!!!!

Just hoping to find a few AMs to travel 1/2 way East to fish the Central Opens next year. A bunch of us Pro's are starting to band together and attempt to get qualified for the Elite Series in 2010 and feel the time is right to show-em who's boss on those Texas/Lousiana waters. The dates are as follow with no off-limits period so plan on a good week and a half away from work/home.

2009 Bassmaster Central Open Division
March 5-7 Toledo Bend
Sept. 3-5 Sam Rayburn
Nov. 5-7 Atchafalaya Basin

Good times await. Call me or post response if interested or with questions.

See you on the water!

As you already know...I am in, and am also looking for an AM to practice/travel with.

We should be able to shave some costs by traveling in a caravan.

Man,
You guys got me thinking....I am always up for a road trip….Until I looked at the fact that only 7 guys from the Central make it to the Elites.

I might pay the deposits and make the decision later.

The payout looks OK but the first one is on top of the CL Stren.

For $3000 bucks it might be worth the time.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions....

From what I understand, they fill in the first hour of registration...so don't stay in limbo too long. :)

That was just one bad tournament, you can rebound.

Like Charley said...but cool to make a statement and get BASS back out west.

I am so used to doing things "my way", it is was very difficult to to figure out what to do behind somebody else :? I have new strengths that I didn't have when I fished as a CO and seem to have lost touch with the ones I was good at when I was a CO :x

obi

ps. If there is availability, I may be able to slip out and do one or two events

Yes it will fill fast but if nothing else we need to send a message to BASS that we will support them if/when they return to the West. Heck, compared to the entries/expenses we've learned to "afford" while fishing FLW the last 3 Years, I think fishing BASS Open events will feel more like the cost of a team tournament.

I'm ready to do battle on that stage and the more of you that step up as well, the faster they will return.

I think am going to do em also as a co! Shaun and justin are looking to do the north Bass Opens. Its a little easier to get qualified we here. The Central opens get full fast and is harder to get qualified. I told Shaun i would help him out with costs so we'll see how it goes. Lets kick some booty Cali!

I just looked at the Northern Schedule and I don't want no part of the drive the MD or taking a boat out on a great lake.

Then again it might be better to fish a DS tournament verses a bubba tournament.

Ricky,

I think the drive to Champlain would a bit more work than MD :?

I like the Northern Schedule, but that is a lot of haulin' if you are draggin' a boat around :x
  • 2009 Bassmaster Northern Open Division
April 16-18 Chesapeake Bay Cecil County, Md.
Aug. 20-22 Lake Champlain Plattsburgh, N.Y.

I went this year as a co-angler to see what it was like and meet people. I'll be there in 2009 w/ my boat on the pro side so maybe we can hook up. I already have roommates for next year but maybe we can meet up somewhere on the drive out; there isn't a cut off period so we can fish a month in advance if we want too (lol).

I think I have a co-angler going w/ me in 2009 too.

Sounds like we have pretty good number of people wanting to change it up a bit.

Why aren't you guys fishing PAA?

On the surface it looks better than BASS.
