Seniors Tournament

Post by Phil »

In the months to come, we will be looking for any interest in having a Seniors tournament 62 and older........Team style, primary must be 62 or older, partner can only be..........relative,wife, son, daughter, grandson, grand/daughter, brother, sister, etc . Not just a friend .

$ 80.00 plus $ 20.00 big fish a total of $ 100.00 so please email us if you think there would be any interest in this type of format ?

Thank you

IMHO you'll draw a lot more guys if you drop the age limit to 55 and "card" everyone that enters.

Most of us are dead before we make 62!

P.S. Come off that 1 fish limit stuff for your Fall Classic and fish a real tournament!

that the teams from fishing families will benefit from an unequal playing field. Another problem I forsee is: How many participants 62 or more will have sons, daughters or others in family who are also over the age of 62. Perhaps you could have a format which includes anyone the age of 62 or more. Others have suggested that you lower the age to 55. That would also be acceptable to my ears. Richard - Sonora

Let me make this plain and clear.................only the entry must be a senior ! The partner can be any family member of any age..
This is/was planned to be fun, and a family event where the wifes, son, daughter, etc can come and fish a tournament like style format...................................This is not a pro, nor a team pro style event..We mean that Jimmy Huston, Don Payne, Dee Thomas, etc, can come and fish for $ 100 with their wife or 10 year old grandson and so on..........................as far as we are all dead and gone before age 62 .well thanks for that Hardshell........I hope and plan to fish until I am 90...........Guys at age 55, we feel are still agile and young enough to go fish all week with the big tournaments. We are aiming at the age group, not the go go go pro group..

hope this clarifies it.....................just a fun thing
Thanks ya'll have a great day, I'm going out to shop to make spinnerbaits, the fish are biting.

I have and will fish a real tournament, this one is for fun and for the fishermen/women.

No ! absolutly not..I can not change anything now..........I did that 2 years ago, and got chastized for it. They say once you have advertised it and permitted it, do not start making changes. Pisses people off, been there done that in my 62 years......

Thanks Hardshell

We are kinda of thinking maybe around spring break / easter time ???> that way kids should be available on spring break and could fish if the elder wishes them to fish ?? or ?? Just tossing ideas out there..Don Pedro , Mc clure, we are retired and on fixed income also, so we can not afford to throw a tournament to far from here, we have not the funds to spend. Here we live 5 minutes to the lake, it is the only reason now that we have the Fall Classic here. It cost alomst nothing for us to go there, plus we have friends at the lake that help us alot, plus we give it all 100 plus % back to the fishermen/women..

Thanks

Hey Jigs,

I might be interested in fishing it but I don't have a "qualifying" partner. My wife can't spend time away from her business, my son lives in Oregon and can't make it down here, my step-son doesn't fish and I would probably drown my sisters (if they are still taking to me)

So how about this thought...partner must be a family member OR another 62+ senior?

THATS ABSOLUTLY FINE...........I am sorry, we meant 62 and older team or 62 and older primary entry with family mamber works for me ...But the main topic issue was to be 62 and older period.

Me too, Jigs...I'll be 62 in two more weeks and I feel like I am as agile and spry as most 55 year olds, maybe even a few 40 yr old "kids"

Jigs,

Five minutes to the lake?? Does that mean we're all staying at your house? Remember, with this format, dinner at 4:30 pm and no music after dark

I don't even think "new" Butch is old enough to fish this event
even in dog years.

Hope Butch and his Old man partner are both kicking well
past 62.

Speak for yourself, Hardshell. I'm 67.

Sounds like fun, Jigs. Just need to find a partner. Don't have any family that fish. Maybe I could get Dee Thomas. Then ya'll would be in trouble. Hey Guy, Mac, you wanna team up?
