I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
YOU AIN'T GONNA LIKE LOSIN'
I know everyone has a different opinion on the war and our current President, but this article makes a lot of sense. Take two minutes, read it and give it some thought. Don't miss the last paragraph.
When electing the next President, the only decision you have to make is who you want sitting in that seat in the White House when--not if --WHEN we get hit again and millions of American lives are put at risk!
This is from: 'You ain't gonna like losing.' Author unknown.
President Bush did make a bad mistake in the war on terrorism. But the mistake was not his decision to go to war in Iraq Bush's mistake came in his belief that this country is the same one his father fought for in WWII. It is not.
Back then, they had just come out of a vicious depression. The country was steeled by the hardship of that depression, but they still believed fervently in this country. They knew that the people had elected their leaders, so it was the people's duty to back those leaders.
Therefore, when the war broke out the people came together, rallied behind, and stuck with their leaders, whether they had voted for them or not or whether the war was going badly or not.
And war was just as distasteful and the anguish just as great then as it is today. Often there were more casualties in one day in WWII than we have had in the entire Iraq war. But that did not matter. The people stuck with the President because it was their patriotic duty. Americans put aside their differences in WWII and worked together to win that war.
Everyone from every strata of society, from young to old pitched in. Small children pulled little wagons around to gather scrap metal for the war effort. Grade school students saved their pennies to buy stamps for war bonds to help the effort.
Men who were too old or medically 4F lied about their age or condition, trying their best to join the military. Women doubled their work to keep things going at home. Harsh rationing of everything from gasoline to soap to butter was imposed, yet there was very little complaining.
You never heard prominent people on the radio belittling the President. Interestingly enough in those days there were no fat cat actors and entertainers who ran off to visit and fawn over dictators of hostile countries and complain to them about our President. Instead, they made upbeat films and entertained our troops to help the troops' morale. And a bunch even enlisted.
And imagine this: Teachers in schools actually started the day off with a Pledge of Allegiance, and with prayers for our country and our troops!
Back then, no newspaper would have dared point out certain weak spots in our cities where bombs could be set off to cause the maximum damage. No newspaper would have dared complain about what we were doing to catch spies. A newspaper would have been laughed out of existence if it had complained that German or Japanese soldiers were being 'tortured' by being forced to wear women's underwear, or subjected to interrogation by a woman, or being scared by a dog or did not have air conditioning. There were a lot of things different back then. We were not subjected to a constant bombardment of pornography, perversion and promiscuity in movies or on radio. We did not have legions of crack heads, dope pushers and armed gangs roaming our streets.
No, President Bush did not make a mistake in his handling of terrorism. He made the mistake of believing that we still had the courage and fortitude of our fathers. He believed that this was still the country that our fathers fought so dearly to preserve..
It is not the same country. It is now a cross between Sodom and Gomorra and the land of Oz. We did unite for a short while after 9/11, but our attitude changed when we found out that defending our country would require some sacrifices.
We are in great danger. The terrorists are fanatic Muslims. They believe that it is okay, even their duty, to kill anyone who will not convert to Islam. It has been estimated that about one third or over three hundred million Muslims are sympathetic to the terrorists' cause... Hitler and Tojo combined did not have nearly that many potential recruits. So... We either win it - or lose it - and you ain't gonna like losing.
America is not at war. The military is at war.
America is at the mall, or watching movies.
(Remember Obama said in his book 'Audacity of Hope,' 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction'.....what better place for the Muslims to control our country, than in the office of the President of USA! Friends, if we don't have a president who will stand forever with Israel , God's chosen people, then we don't want that president.) , If ever an email needed to be forwarded, now is the time. Ask God to watch over us this election day.

Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
I see it this way, first of all he lied, he led Americans to believe that somehow Iraq was a central part on the War on terror, we attacked, preemminent strike. WWII totally different scenario, we were attacked, we were drug into that war, Americans did not want to go to war, after being forced into it, we were going to fight until the last man.
So after the "big" lie, we see absolute stupidity from this administration, companies receiving billions in "no-bid" contracts, companies like the one Bush Sr. and Chenney were part of "Haliburton", complete and utter mismanagment.
What happened to the real terrorists in Afghanistan? Why didn't we chase them down?
You may believe what this president says, but I don't believe it for one second, I believe he had a predetermined plan to attack Iraq when he stepped into office. I don't want to hear how Americans aren't patriotic, I believe they are, I don't believe that this President and his band of thieves and crooks ever were patriots, they were greedy self serving contemptuous individuals seeking their own interests with no regard for this Nation or its people.
Also-the line from Obama standing with the Muslims, taken out of context, look it up and read the entire paragraph, on the other hand don't bother.

I support that until the propaganda at the end. Our country had changed. Yes, there are those of us who are patriotic, but many don't give a sh*t. They are more concerned with collecting their welfare checks.

Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
In 1993 there were a record number of Families in the US on Welfare, just over 5 million families received government checks. By the end of Clintons 2nd term those numbers were cut by more than half to less than 2.5 million families receiving welfare checks, the number one factor was welfare reform legislation enacted in 1996, this information comes directly from US Census.
My point is, they're not all standing in a welfare line waiting to collect a check. If some people are tuned out, maybe it's because of the same old b.s. over the past 8 years. Virtually nothing has changed for the better, not our roads, not our schools, certainly not our health care system, income has gone down, and crime seems to be going up in many places. If you like all of this then I encourage you to vote for John McCain, because that would gaurantee more of the SAME.

So you believe back before 9/11, his administration had plans to attack Iraq? And these plans were made for oil or to finish the job his Dad never did or ?Dan McKenzie wrote:I believe he had a predetermined plan to attack Iraq when he stepped into office.
It's amazing how much credit and intelligence you are indirectly giving this administration with these overblown, fantastic claims of such in-depth, secretive planning. So is the adminstraion and Bush stupid or so smart thay fooled everyone in America and the world?
Ridiculous and laughable is the reality of your post in my opinion. If even half of what you "believed" had any basis in fact or reality we would have seen impeachment proceedings and we saw nothing.
I'll stick with the tenets of our legal system, they are quite simple: Innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Losers will always be losers. I don't make excuses for people who are lazy and unproductive. Why you democrats love paying for these programs amazes me.

I am not alone in this belief, and I could provide you an extensive reading list with plenty of articles and books by respected authors and former administration officials to tie this together, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say none of it would change your mind, so I won't bother.

I take you haven't traveled extensively around this great country of ours? If you believe that all those that need help are losers and unproductive lazy individuals then I know for certain you haven't been to Missisippi or Alabama, S. Carolina, or W. Virginia, Arkansas and a host of other forgotten places around our Nation. Do you think a kid from Compton has the same chances of education and jobs as someone living in Pleasanton or Walnut Creek?
Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
Things are not good ,thats not news to anyone . Your analogy about the kid from Compton has some thought to it ,as my " I never could play my favorite sport -Basketball" cause I wasnt tall enough to play center or forward, fast enough to play guard, and not enough finesse to last past the first half with out fouling out . Kid better move . Complain to his parents . Period . Government has no place placing him . That is where we as Americans have got what we ask for . You want freedom ,then do something . You want to be told what to do ,and how much it is worth ,be careful what you ask for .Such is the life of us that we consider ourselves bigshots and that we know whats better for us than the government -and we do know better -and we can still screw up . Me ,I 've been pulling my hair out (self employed) for a few years now . Name it-if it was wrong -it has happened to me . All I do each day is do the best I can-pray that I wont make the wrong decissions ,and go forward. Not feeling sorry or my self ,I have done OK . Worried...you betcha . Look at the candidates - you think one of them is the ANSWER--you have another thing coming . My concerns maybe different than yours . National Security , Government Spending ,and everything afterwards is just that.... after. Talk about retirement, etc, etc,,etc...its after those two are addressed . If you are going to pay one cent to anyone that doesnt get one cent now-stop . We cant afford it . Just stop . Now I will grant you if O gets in ,business accross the land will perform . Yet will also not have anything to show for it . Talk about raising taxes for the fairness to lower others...there are more people that "dont make enough" above the table income to own homes ,yet have new frikkin cars every two years . That is there Freedom to spend as they see fit . Now ,many of the "cash " jobs have dried up ,and now the first to cry for help is the one that didnt pay into the government to begin with . I'm not about to call people lazy (yet we know they are around) . One party thru history has licked there chops every election with the "I will provide" line more than once . Only thing i can hope is that not all of them buy into the Kool-Aid ..Talk abouty what it was like in Clintons years..try Carters when possible.. Blow your mind--we are still paying for his "Dept of Energy" in the Government . Ya know...the one that was supposed to guarantee that we wouldnt be held hostage from foreign oil. @50 million a year...they are over paid . Another of someones brite ideas of "Lets form a new and seperate branch--and where do we send a bill for operating expenses"We keep getting bites of "this president is the same as this guy" BS...both have different ideas of what to do . Both have agreed and disagreed more than once with Bush . As I have also.Dan McKenzie wrote:I take you haven't traveled extensively around this great country of ours? Do you really believe what your saying? Do you have so little compassion for people? I mistakingly thought America was about equality for all. If you seen the conditions in the deep south, conditions that haven't changed for 150 years, and you believe they have the option to pick up and leave,....I honestly don't believe that you believe what your saying. I'm not speaking about those who have an option to change their lives, I am speaking of those who have zero options, and there are millions in that position, that have been there for many generations. Inalienable rights aren't only for those who can afford them. I believe this can be changed with more focus on Americans, imagine what 10 billion a month could do for those people who have no options. If you honestly believe people make a choice to live this way...oh well, my conscious doesn't allow me to.
Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
I am not speaking about the people in the south leaving...u spoke of the kid in Compton and his schooling... sry for the miss -communication. I dont think any politician (few if any) have any real thought about you and I . Been proven too many times . They do what is the best for them -period-All I hope for is one of them dont bend me over as much as I fear .

your last line brought back memories of the colonoscopy I had last week, I asked the Doc to go easy on me,
well I don't remember much and thought that wasn't so bad, until I checked out and the bill was $8,000.00, I knew right then what had happened, I got screwed!

Based on this then articles of impeachment should be easy right? Why aren't those forthcoming? Where are they? They aren't coming and never will because there is no actionable proof of any wrong doing whatsoever. Spin it however you want the reality is the reality; innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.Dan McKenzie wrote:I am not alone in this belief, and I could provide you an extensive reading list with plenty of articles and books by respected authors and former administration officials to tie this together, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say none of it would change your mind, so I won't bother.

Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
Hey Dan-
Weren't you the one who brought up "the kid in Compton?"
By the way, I used to travel for a living and have been to the South at least 40 times.
I DIDN'T go to college and DON'T bust my *** at work to pay for the "have nots." Nobody ever gave me anything. I've earned whatever I have. America is about equality for all. When my alarm goes off at 5 am and have a 2 hour drive to work, it would be very easy for me to just give up every morning. However, I decide my own fate and have taught myself that with great sacrifice comes great reward.
Just listen to yourself
Although this sounds rather elitist, it's true. There's always going to be a top of the food chain and there will be bottom feeders as well. I just have no interest in helping those who don't help themselves.
Sorry if the truth hurts Dan.

live as you choose. I don't claim to speak for everyman, just this man. If you don't believe that every American deserves a chance then nothing I say will change your mind. Saying you've travelled to the south 40x doesn't mean you went there with your eyes open, just means you went there. Compassion is the greatest gift humans have to offer, too bad not all humans have it.
Yes I brought up the kid in Compton, so what, you believe he's had all the same oppurtunities as the kid in Pleasanton? I'm not stupid, nor do I think you are, don't try and compare an apple to an orange, I'll bet you you never worried about getting shot while walking to school, or having to pass 15 crack dealers, gangs? There are exceptions to everything this I understand, but exeptions aren't the rule.

Speaking of the South.
I'm from the south, born in Mobile, Ala. Raised in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
From Divorced parents
High School dropout.
Supported my Mom and 2 sisters at the age of 14.
And you want to tell me about how hard it is to raise yourself up from nothing.
Dan, Now tell me all about dragging yourself up and how it cannot be done!
Unless you are one of us. Dont even go there

What I don't get about you and your kind is how on one hand the conservative agenda is all about pro-life and christian morals, as long as it isn't at your expense.
Another thing, twhy are so many willing to fund a war to help people we don't even know, yet snub their noses at our own citizens.
Let's just cut off social security, medicare, let's close down all public funded hospitals, no money for education - I don't have kids in school, let those who do pay for their own childrens education.
You guys kill me, one because I know for a fact your not all cold hearted, but somehow it makes you feel better to act like it.

you are either 20 years old, or don't have a clue. Everyone has options, clearly your not as well traveled as you think you are.
Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
Typical socialist blather. "America is for equality for all"? You have it all wrong. "Every American is born equal". After that birth it is 100% up to that individual to make of themselves what they can. You have been listening to the wealthy elitists who have more than they can use so they are pushing the socialist view that we need to intervene to pick all people up to a basic standard of living. That is exactly how Jimmy Carter then Clinton developed the fair housing/no redline BS that got us into this economic meltdown. Part of capitalism is those that have and those that have not. We have no guarantees of equality whatsoever.

Nixon was guilty which is why he resigned when congress was proceeding with impeachment.Dan McKenzie wrote:Articles of Impeachment aren't forthcoming.......They didn't come for Nixon either, doesn't mean he wasn't guilty, does it?
"With certainty of an impeachment in the House of Representatives and of a conviction in the Senate, Nixon resigned ten days later, becoming the only US President to have resigned from office. His successor, Gerald Ford, would issue a controversial pardon for any federal crimes Nixon may have committed while in office."
The key difference being there existed actionable proof of wrongdoings. Nothing of the kind exists for the current administration - at all. Just sensational overblown spin and heresay.

Re: I love the stuff people send me, Is it true or Not ?
Dan , there is a big differnce between Me helping out a person that is down and out[ which I do] and the gov. taking my tax dollars and making 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen welfare people.
Back before the gov. jumped in. if a person was down and out there were local people that helped, but at the same time they helped there was a push to get thet person up and on his feet.
Most people got help but had to look their helper in the eye, and maybe feel a little shame[ not always a bad thing]. So there was a reason to get back on your own.
Now in some places there are 3rd and 4th gen. welfare that just draw a check.
You were talking about the south. I can remember familys living in shacks because the welfare people would come out and check on them every once in a while, but when it got really cold , they would go out and sit in the caddy.
There are people that need help and local people that can and will help them the gov. should'nt be in the welfare buss.
Now your other comment about S.S. If you payed in you should get out. If you barter or play for cash or for what ever reason you didnt put in , what can I say,
Kind of like the ant and the grasshopper, or did your parents not tell you that story?

Taken from Wikipedia: By 1997, "owned" was regularly used in website defacements where it was used to refer to defeat.you are either 20 years old, or don't have a clue
You are a fossil

"What I don't get about you and your kind is how on one hand the conservative agenda is all about pro-life and christian morals, as long as it isn't at your expense" 3/4 of the problems we face is because of the "choices" we have made . That in this country is a right . You have the right to screw up beyond comprension ,just as you have the right to make choices that our predecessors did before us . How ever it is not your right to make me fix you . It is your right to reach with a hand up for help ,not your right to grab me with a fist and demand me to pay for you . Many in this country (not all-so calm down, lol) think that they are owed something . We as a society have developed the best moochers in the world -and we all know how they are voting ,and they get mixed in with the REAL NEEDY. Amazing what we can make ...just by the simple choices we are allowed to make. FreeLoaders . But one side tries to cater to them with" the companies are getting rich on your backs" B/S . Far as I'm concerned...if you really need help (alot do-I say help them) also I say help your self . Maybe ,just maybe the choices you have made (AND I HAVE BEEN THERE ) need to be re-evaluated .

Rod,
I don't suggest that the current system is an ideal model, and your right making generations of families on "welfare" as we know it won't accomplish much in the end.
But there is much this government can and should do, public works projects is just one of them, in the early 20th century the government did many public works jobs projects that not only provided job training and more importantly jobs, but benefited from the projects themselves. Lord knows there are plenty of roads, dams and other projects that need doin' and would provide paychecks for plenty. We're spending 10 billion a month just on the Iraq war, take that money and put it to doing something beneficial, let Iraq pay for their security, we already won the war.
I never said hand people money, you only breed entitlement doing that, making an honest wage for an honest days work instills pride and accomplishment.

"never said hand people money, you only breed entitlement doing that, making an honest wage for an honest days work instills pride and accomplishment. " True..you didnt . However you get the feeling that politicians do infact say that ? I remember HRC speaking on an Indian Reservation promising "Health care" to all its people. Nice mind you-and all she was doing was useing my money to supply her fantasy . Much like O-man.. damn..the cash isnt there..if your brain shaking ideas are so darn good,,,where were they 50 years ago? Is this crop of 4 so intelligent that we as a human race will bow down? We dont think so(atleast I dont) but the Candidates them selves sure do . My point is...just stop spending .Period. We need to take our medicine and continue ,not to buy votes by promising cash/insurance that is not intitled to until such time becomes possible .BTW...Health care was in issue over 30 years ago...and still hasnt been solved .

Dan, What I want to see , Gov. looking at every dime it pays out. WE Have
Farmers getting paid not to grow. Peanut farmers that lease out their rights to grow peanuts. Studies to find out why [ here you can add your own gripe] because, the gov. gives money to everyone. A program is started to help something, then whatever it was gets better, or is replaced by something new,BUT the money keeps going out.
Fix that first
Then, Why in the world do the states send money to the federal gov. Then get it back
There is NO way you can add layers to a problem and expect to be able to save cost.
So get rid of every fed. dept. that mirrors a state Dept. Local people closer to the problem, should be able to help better and faster that the feds.
After that there should be money to do some programs that are needed , but do them at the state or local level.

I do enough spinning worrying about things like payroll and p = l statements, not to mention from my perch at the gym I look directly into the "spin class" fun to watch, looks brutal.
