Got To Admitt, I Was Impressed By Sara!
She did manage to come across as a bright , articulate knowledgeable debater who did seem to know her facts from fiction.
I did like her straight forward folksy way of speaking to the camera, as if to show us that she was just about as plane as sliced bread. I think she did manage to flabbergast the main stream media some what, because most though she would fall flat on her face. Goes to show she had great coaching by her handlers.
Too bad we only get to see her once, I would have liked to see her more, with a better moderator than what she got form PBS.
If ya think that that Joke Gwen did a good job, sorry for you, I got some swamp land you might want to buy real cheep ! Were do they get these mods anyways ? She acted like she was coming off her Med's

I thought it was a joke. Winking at the camera, joe six pack and all the other stuff she brought up. She did better than I thought she would but lets try to remember she is running for VP not some cute little town office. She is small time and the only thing going for her is looks.

Your right Alaska is small.

Don’t get her mad, she brake Alaska in half and you have two more California’s!
As for her being small time – She is the one keeping McCain in this race – 69.9 million viewer last night – not bad for small time!

Re: Got To Admitt, I Was Impressed By Sara!
Sarah tries to come across as the mom from middle America. I just don't want some mom being my VP. Can the folksy BS and just talk facts. I thought she did much better when she was talking facts with Joe than when she was saying, "say it aint so Joe", or winking for the camera. Save that crap and say it like it is.
She did better than I thought she would. But the end is still near.
Did you see where they just gave up on Michigan. That is a swing state and a risky move. Which state will they give up on next?

It doesnt matter what she does. Some of you look really hard for a reason the badmouth her.
Just shows me how one sided you are.
I think for some of you, meeting 1/2 way , is the other guy coming over to your side.
You're not God, I'm not even sure if you're very smart. you seem to be a 1/2 step above Obamas cult followers
God Bless America and all that would defend her!
McCain/Palin 08

So then, what some of you are saying is you have to an oldtimer in the system to do the VP job right? How about the top job? Personally I think we need to get as far away from lifers to find our next president and vice president. Obama isn't far enough removed. McCain is way to entrenched in the system and it's partisan ways. I wouldn't vote for either of them.
Palin and Biden don't make me wanna jump up and vote either.
Better yet, how's about they just eliminate both positions and move on to something new.

Personally , I think the vast majority of people put too much "smarts" on our elected officials . Doing what is "correct" doesnt take anymore knowledge than what you were instructed in your childhood . Yet we all have moments where it was more beneficial to do what is better as an individual than what was right . We criticize GWB cause gas went up ,I cant stand the very ground that Pelosi places her feet on every morning . Clinton raped the military ,saved money ,over taxed Americas citizens and actually turned a profit
,and some look at him as a success . Although many people look at Lawyers at the upper level in brain mass , I feel they for the most part have got too many angles to mess up what was once a valid judicial system . Cmon..if it smells like a dog turd....its not anything but . I am ready for something different . If one can actually piss off there "party" by going against them on occasion thats a good place to start . Not needing to do whats popular ,but to do what is right . JFK had a few of his own Dem party upset more than once ,Johnson did not...and also was looked at like a falure . Nixon..well,,better forget that one,lol . Reagan...there was times where I was happier with him than his own Rep party . He is considered to be what a pres should aim for-he strived for what is right . Although I am not a big fan of McCain ,nor even Joe Lieberman ,they both have failed to have the utmost love from there own group . So ,I see it that they may actually do something in my favor by the simple fact that they dont need to bow down to there own.

Re: Got To Admitt, I Was Impressed By Sara!
as noted by someone else, she did a great job of answering the questions that she asked herself. questions asked of her - not so much. unusual debate strategy but given the response of the public she seems to have done a good job of it.
to her credit she had her talking points down pretty well, she clearly worked hard during the past 5 weeks. but given how low the bar was for her, how hard was it really for her to look good in the end?

it just occurred to me that it feels like, and I can't for the life of me understand why this is but it makes sense to me, that the republican party could have trotted out Ronald McDonald and repubs would have stood up on your chairs as you have and cheered "BRILLIANT SELECTION" in unision
Conservatives who initially hated McCain for not being conservative enough are now his staunchest supporters, your ability to support a politically inexperienced governor as you have -- While totally baffled by the dynamic - I commend you all for your ability to "rally around" your party, I think it has a lot to do with the successes you've seen.

I think it has more to do with the conservative being drilled by the likes of Hannity, Lush Rimgaugh, O'reilly and all the others. Telling them day in and day out how good Palin is and how bad Obama is after a while they take it as truth.
The truth, as I see it, is Palin is useless other than the fact that she claims to be a conservative republican. If she was that smart she would do more interviews but she won't because it would be too easy to see her inexperience and yes I will say it, her stupidity.

Good point I guess ,but that opens the door for the expected...Obamas lack of experience . What does a Community Organizer do anyways? Knife cuts both ways lol . I will name Govs that have made pres and vice pres ,you name Comm Organizers ....are there any? The name started where ? His resume? Is that like a Sanitation Expert ,needed ,thats for sure ,but at the end of the day ,the name is janitor . As far as her being stupid ...no,,Neither is Obama...however I do doubt the intelligence factor of those that buy into his mesiah offering..FishaHallic wrote:I think it has more to do with the conservative being drilled by the likes of Hannity, Lush Rimgaugh, O'reilly and all the others. yes she is quite the master at "not answering questions". I think she did far better than most expected, she did what I thought she would, very composed, quick answers, not too condescending, yet just enough. I like how she used the quote leading up to the debate, "I have been listening to his senate speaches since I was in the 2nd grade" yet if that's the case she could have listened to John McCain when she was still in the womb. It's a shame we couldn't see Biden unleashed, he can sling it good, I would have liked to seen that. Too bad none of it matters, the lipsticked pittbull hockey mom is about to get smacked "broadside" by a train called "The American People", it'll be a smackdown of imense proportion.
The next 30 days will be enjoyable entertainment, as the GOP pulls out all stops to bring Obama down. I got a feeling it's gonna get ugly, and the GOP will be left with their heads stuck firmly in George Bush caboose. C'est la vie", live by the sword die by the sword-McCain should probably get his retirement home prepared since he's going to see it so soon.

Thank you very much for your service John - in Vietnam and the Senate. Now relax and enjoy yourself while we straighten out this mess. Go fishing at Havasu - catch a big one.Dan McKenzie wrote:McCain should probably get his retirement home prepared since he's going to see it so soon.

It's funny, since you republicans brought up Obama as being the mesiah. And since Obama is a "junior senator" I am not sure what you could possibly mean by community organizer, you must have him mixed up with someone else.CharlieS. wrote:Good point I guess ,but that opens the door for the expected...Obamas lack of experience . Cmon, that has been his "proof of experience" since he was holding the junior senator title . You know as well as I do...have an answer yet? Me either ,you are in good company . My mesiah comment is that people actually buy in to the song and dance . That being that "Yes we Can" have government take care of you . There are far more people in total numbers with there hands out wanting there piece of a promise than there are people paying into a system that is forced into who knows what to pay . If it were not the case ,Several presidents ago we would have already had some sort of health care ,veteran care ,etc,etc... it keeps getting past up and buried in the process of being president . I completely agree that something has to be done ,yet what is more popular? Taking medicine -and start to take better of ones self ? Or just blame the guy next door why you dont feel good and eat donuts and sit on you butt hoping that someone will take care of you and say "ohh isnt that better ?"and Its going to be a good battle ,neither of us actually KNOWS who will win . Numbers favor one side ,intelligence favors another .FishaHallic wrote:CharlieS. wrote:FishaHallic wrote:I think it has more to do with the conservative being drilled by the likes of Hannity, Lush Rimgaugh, O'reilly and all the others. If you consider voting for a party that has control for 6 of the last 8 years and have the economy doing what it is doing, 750,000 jobs lost this year, record oil prices, record oil profits for oil companies, housing down, consumer confidence down, at least 4 bail-out or gov't guaranteed loans that add up to over a Trillion dollars with more to come, our standing in the world down, Osama Bin Laden still loose, Iraq in shambles , not enough troops in Ahfganistan, record deficits and even higher ones to come an intelligent choice for your vote then I don't know what I can say.

All that shows is that according to myth ..SP will fit right into regular politics .....ie....avoiding questions ... Just like you think you could have answered better then her...I KNOW I HAD A BETTER ANSWER THAN "THAT IS ABOVE MY PAY GRADE" or...the ever popular...."fundamentally this and fundamentally that...that Biden pushed last week...23 times or so...lol..Game On

I was listening to a rerun of the debates as I read your post. They were talking about when to send troops. McCain said "Fundamentally" as my eyes fell on that word. Funny.CharlieS. wrote:"fundamentally this and fundamentally that...that Biden pushed last week...23 times or so...lol..Game On
