Quick Silver Oil

Post by Scoot549 »

What is a good price for Quick Silver Oil and where is a good place to pick it up? I live in the Valley and spend most of my time in Fresno. Just trying to save a dollar and do I really need it? I have a 98 Merc 150hp and it smokes. I have been running Castrol 2 stroke will it make a difference.

Thanks for your input!

West Marine used to carry Quicksilver at a great price, but they now only carry their own generic brand and Pennzoil. This has forced me to go elsewhere. Dont know any other stores that carry it.

Scoot549,

Do you have a carburated, EFI or Optimax model? If it's carburated or EFI it's going to emit smoke. You can check with a Mercury dealer to see if using Mercury oil will make a difference or not. If you have an Optimax it should only emit a small amount of smoke when it's cold.
