I just wanted to let you all know i am headed to Colorado for a change of lifestyle soon!! I am not moving untill i find a job after the first of the year but i am outta here. Untill i had visited CO last year, i was content with living in SoCal, fighting the daily traffic, paying way too much for a rental, no chance of affording a home. I thought this was the life i had to live! I can own a huge home with a huge yard for less then i pay for my cracker box rental! In 30 minutes or less i can dissapear into the Rocky Mountains and catch my fill of native trout or launch my boat and catch smallies and largies (just read Jarrett's article on CO!!). The GF is going with me, the only thing i am leaving behind (besides family) is my fishing friends, my guiding business (15 years strong), and a lake with a world record fish. Thats not enough to keep me here any longer. I need a change. The main reason for this post, is to thank all of you who have fished with me over the years. Some of you in this forum (Dennis)even started winning some $$$ on DV and i hope i had a small part in helping. It has not always been easy and not always been successful but im glad to have made some dreams come true on the water!! I also want to be the first to cheerlead the locals at MV. I most likely will not be here for the spring, i want to wish you all good luck in pursuing the record!! Even though we are always locked into fierce competition trying to find the monsters in the spring, i want to wish you guys luck!!! George, Bill, Joe, Shimano Dan, and all the others out there, you are all my friends now make me proud this year (dont believe the bassmaster article theres still at least 2 in the 20lb range!!!!!!!!!!) I will still be here for up to 6 months depending on the job situation, but i am just about done guiding and my boat is strictly on my home lake now. I am referring all new out of town customers to Pete but right now the phone just isnt ringing. Good thing i have another job!!!
Thank you all and it has been a pleasure fishing with you and against you over the years i will miss all of you in here (yes all of you!!!)

Shawn, I too have considered moving there.....I love to hunt and fish and when the time is right, you may see me
. For now my work here has been great (resi remodel) and I still guide to take a break from the norm. Hopefully you will make the same $ as here, as pay is less there (it's somewhat relative). Good luck and I wish you the best!

Re: Im out.......(semi long)
15 years ago i walked into sports chalet to get a weight lifting set for my 15th birthday; i always enjoyed fishing as a kid so i stopped by the fishing section to look around and you took the time to talk some fishin with me, an hour later i walked out of the that place with a Diawia SS spinning reel and a Kunan rod (i have both to this day which my kids now use). I used that set-up to rope 'em at the LF Keys, MV, and Oso for years. I'm a shimano guy now, and I've spent the last 16 years with a passion for fishing that i now share with my kids. Looking back, a lot of it stemmed from my visit to that store. Best of luck on your move. Enjoy the clean air.

Sorry... couldn't resist!
Colorado was always one of the few places I'd always considered, if I was going to relocate out of California. There are many beautiful places there - I visited several times as a young child with my parents on vacation, and I had the pleasure of going back a few years ago for a business trip.
Good luck with your planning - hope it all works out for you!

Thank guys, i just need a change and have always longed for someplace like CO. I need to relax, fish for fun when im on the water, come home at night and drink by the fireplace with my Triton in an actual Garage and watch the snowfall! Ive loved Cali but always wanted something different. Gerry ill let you know how it is!! The fishing, the atmosphere, etc. it may be a short while as my GF and i dont even have jobs yet. Again, you guys have all been kind and respectful over the years and though we've competed on the water be it guiding or Tourneys, i have a ton of respect for you and your individual talents!!! Oh and i do remember the Sport Chalet days it was a pleasure getting customers to catch fish!
