ANY PRO-TEAM TOURNAMENTS OUTTA OROVILLE

Post by cleb19 »

With the Water situation being so crappy do any of the circuits plan to still have team tournaments up there. I know Anglers Choice usually does the gold city region. Anybody know?

Everyone is going to line up on the bank by the dirt Ramp below the dam... First three to catch fish take the money
I can't imagine even thinking about a tourney on Oroville with the water level now. Try to picture 50-100 boats trying to launch off that POS makeshift dirt ramp that is by the dam. Maybe if we are lucky, there will be some water in the spring

I went to Oroville Outdoors on Tuesday and I believe the first Gold Country Pro Team Tournament is November 15 and out of Bidwell. The Bidwell ramp is obviously in the dirt but there is a steel grate of some kind to aid in launching. Just in case I read it wrong, call the store to confirm the date. The full schedule is posted on the door but I don't believe its on the site yet.

If you don't want to wait till mid November for a tournament in the north, this Saturday at Shasta starts the WON bass Sierra Cascade team circuit with signups at Phil's Prop Shop. The particulars are listed on their site.

I talked to a guy from the State Water Resources from Oroville yesterday and he's saying that Oroville will reach its lowest ever by mid November. so i wouldn,t get my hopes up to much. They were in taking pics of Folsom and checking our water level which is out of there jurisdiction but they wanted to see how we were doing.
There was an Aerial balloon out there last week taking pic. of the lake and surrounding area

There are two circuits on Oroville this year. Gold City division for Angler's, and the Oroville region for ABA. Angler's does start next month, and I will kick off ABA in January.

Although the water is low, the fishing is great. I hope to see many of you in January as we get going. I have some surprises and fresh ideas in mind for my fisherman. I will keep you informed about the water levels.......pray for rain.

tight lines,

Brent,

Is this your first year running the ABA's when do they start up. I wanna do one whole circuit there. would there be a TOC and would it be on oroville. Brent's a great guy and think he'll make a good tournament director, count me in BRENT

Thanks Chad. This is my first year running the Oroville region of the ABA. Here are the dates:

Jan. 11
Feb. 22
Mar. 22
Apr. 5
May 2
Jun. 14

Six tourneys and you throw out your worse one for the overall standings. ABA has some cool changes for this season and the payouts are great.

Because of the water levels on Oroville and Shasta, I think the TOC has been set for Clear Lake.

I'll have some of that big fish money waiting for you if you can keep bringing in those donkeys! Can't wait to see you guys in January.

Thanks Brent. Those "Donkeys" seem to disappear on me until the summer time. Ill be at all of them hopefully. The T.O.C at clear Lake is kind of a bummer deal. See ya in January.

Yes the water is low, but Anglers Choice pro-teams will start on Nov.15th. The launch will be at the dam as of right now. The weigh-in I am hoping to do at Bidwell Marina, I will know more soon. Send me your e-mail address and I will get you a flyer/brochure and angler letter with all of the details. Jason Bubier ( ajbubier@sbcglobal.net )
