Comments From America's Most effective leader since FDR

Post by Bass Attack »

Here are some inspirational words from the greatest president in recent history.....William Jefferson Clinton.....Read them, embrace them and live them for an era of renewed American prosperiety......

"I don't have to tell you how important this election is to our country. But I do want to tell you one thing that will make a tremendous difference for Barack Obama and Joe Biden as we go forward: A filibuster-proof Democratic Senate majority working by their side.

Now, reaching the filibuster-proof 60 votes isn't going to be easy. There are a lot of races that are just about as close as they come. Let me tell you about three must-win races where you can help put Democrats over the top.

In Minnesota, Al Franken has faced some of the worst negative attack ads we've seen this cycle, but he's got a great shot of picking up this seat for Democrats.

In Kentucky, Bruce Lunsford has the chance to kick the Republican's Senate leader out of office - and you'd better believe the GOP is putting everything they've got into this one.

And, Jim Martin is running a race in Georgia that everyone thought was a long shot, but recent polls show the race neck and neck. If you help him keep his momentum going, we can add this one to the Democratic column too.

These races are all dead heats, and all in Republican territory that we can capture. And you better believe that Republicans are shifting their resources to deliver their most offensive, over-the-top attacks into these states. It's up to us to make sure Al, Bruce, and Jim have the resources they need to fight back and win.

I don't think it will surprise you that Hillary and I talk about the Senate races all the time. After all, she'll be working every day with the winners next year.

I know that these three races are critically important to her -- and they should be to you, too. It isn't just because they're so vital to our chances of getting 60 votes in the Senate. It's also because you can make such a difference in all of them and we know that when Democrats work together - we win.

The decision you make right now might be the factor that puts one or even all three of these great Democrats over the top on Election Day. Trust me, I've been in politics long enough to know what a difference your support can make.

With your help, we're going to have a great day on November 4. So let's keep working for these next 11 days, and then let's win together!

Bill Clinton...

Your source is highly suspect as well. Isn't this the same president who said this:

Standing alongside First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and Vice President Al Gore in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, Clinton waged his finger at news cameras and declared: "But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time -- never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people."

7 months go by and he then says this.......

That night, the President appeared on national TV to address the American public and now admitted: "Indeed, I did have a relationship with Ms. Lewinsky that was not appropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted a critical lapse in judgment and a personal failure on my part for which I am solely and completely responsible." The President also acknowledged he had been deceptive: "I know that my public comments and my silence about this matter gave a false impression. I misled people, including even my wife. I deeply regret that."

In case you've forgotten he was also the last president in out nations history to go through this:

Articles of Impeachment:

RESOLVED that William Jefferson Clinton, President of the United States, is impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors, and that the following articles of impeachment be exhibited to the United States Senate:

ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT EXHIBITED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN THE NAME OF ITSELF AND OF THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AGAINST WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF ITS IMPEACHMENT AGAINST HIM FOR HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS.

Article 1: Perjury before Independent Counsel Ken Starr's grand jury.

In his conduct while President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has willfully corrupted and manipulated the judicial process of the United States for his personal gain and exoneration, impeding the administration of justice, in that:

On August 17, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton swore to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth before a Federal grand jury of the United States. Contrary to that oath, William Jefferson Clinton willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony to the grand jury concerning one or more of the following:

(1) the nature and details of his relationship with a subordinate Government employee;
(2) prior perjurious, false and misleading testimony he gave in a Federal civil rights action brought against him;
(3) prior false and misleading statements he allowed his attorney to make to a Federal judge in that civil rights action; and
(4) his corrupt efforts to influence the testimony of witnesses and to impede the discovery of evidence in that civil rights action.

In doing this, William Jefferson Clinton has undermined the integrity of his office, has brought disrepute on the Presidency, has betrayed his trust as President, and has acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

Wherefore, William Jefferson Clinton, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.

(Approved 21-16 by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, December 11, 1998)
(Passed 228-206 in the House of Representatives at 1:25 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 1998)

Article 2: Perjury in the Paula Jones civil case.

(1) On December 23, 1997, William Jefferson Clinton, in sworn answers to written questions asked as part of a Federal civil rights action brought against him, willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony in response to questions deemed relevant by a Federal judge concerning conduct and proposed conduct with subordinate employees.

(2) On January 17, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton swore under oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth in a deposition given as part of a Federal civil rights action brought against him. Contrary to that oath, William Jefferson Clinton willfully provided perjurious, false and misleading testimony in response to questions deemed relevant by a Federal judge concerning the nature and details of his relationship with a subordinate Government employee, his knowledge of that employee's involvement and participation in the civil rights action brought against him, and his corrupt efforts to influence the testimony of that employee.

In all of this, William Jefferson Clinton has undermined the integrity of his office, has brought disrepute on the Presidency, has betrayed his trust as President, and has acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

Wherefore, William Jefferson Clinton, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust or profit under the United States.

(Approved 20-17 by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, December 11, 1998)
(Failed 229-205 in the House of Representatives at 1:42 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 1998)

Article 3: Obstruction of Justice related to the Jones case.

In his conduct while President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice, and has to that end engaged personally, and through his subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or scheme designed to delay, impede, cover up, and conceal the existence of evidence and testimony related to a Federal civil rights action brought against him in a duly instituted judicial proceeding.

The means used to implement this course of conduct or scheme included one or more of the following acts:

(1) On or about December 17, 1997, William Jefferson Clinton corruptly encouraged a witness in a Federal civil rights action brought against him to execute a sworn affidavit in that proceeding that he knew to be perjurious, false and misleading.

(2) On or about December 17, 1997, William Jefferson Clinton corruptly encouraged a witness in a Federal civil rights action brought against him to give perjurious, false and misleading testimony if and when called to testify personally in that proceeding.

(3) On or about December 28, 1997, William Jefferson Clinton corruptly engaged in, encouraged, or supported a scheme to conceal evidence that had been subpoenaed in a Federal civil rights action brought against him.

(4) Beginning on or about December 7, 1997, and continuing through and including January 14, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton intensified and succeeded in an effort to secure job assistance to a witness in a Federal civil rights action brought against him in order to corruptly prevent the truthful testimony of that witness in that proceeding at a time when the truthful testimony of that witness would have been harmful to him.

(5) On January 17, 1998, at his deposition in a Federal civil rights action brought against him, William Jefferson Clinton corruptly allowed his attorney to make false and misleading statements to a Federal judge characterizing an affidavit, in order to prevent questioning deemed relevant by the judge. Such false and misleading statements were subsequently acknowledged by his attorney in a communication to that judge.

(6) On or about January 18 and January 20-21, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton related a false and misleading account of events relevant to a Federal civil rights action brought against him to a potential witness in that proceeding, in order to corruptly influence the testimony of that witness.

(7) On or about January 21, 23 and 26, 1998, William Jefferson Clinton made false and misleading statements to potential witnesses in a Federal grand jury proceeding in order to corruptly influence the testimony of those witnesses. The false and misleading statements made by William Jefferson Clinton were repeated by the witnesses to the grand jury, causing the grand jury to receive false and misleading information.

(Approved 21-16 by the House Judiciary Committee on Friday, December 11, 1998)
(Passed 221-212 in the House of Representatives at 1:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 1998)

Article 4: Abuse of Power by making perjurious statements to Congress in his answers to the 81 questions posed by the Judiciary Committee.

Using the powers and influence of the office of President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in disregard of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has engaged in conduct that resulted in misuse and abuse of his high office, impaired the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, and contravened the authority of the legislative branch and the truth-seeking purpose of a coordinate investigative proceeding in that, as President, William Jefferson Clinton, refused and failed to respond to certain written requests for admission and willfully made perjurious, false and misleading sworn statements in response to certain written requests for admission propounded to him as part of the impeachment inquiry authorized by the House of Representatives of the Congress of the United States.

William Jefferson Clinton, in refusing and failing to respond, and in making perjurious, false and misleading statements, assumed to himself functions and judgments necessary to the exercise of the sole power of impeachment vested by the Constitution in the House of Representatives and exhibited contempt for the inquiry.

(Approved 21-16 by the House Judiciary Committee on Saturday, December 12, 1998)
(Failed 285-148 in the House of Representatives at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 1998)

Consequences:

With Articles 1 and 3, pertaining to perjury and obstruction of justice, having been approved by the House of Representatives, Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott announced that President Clinton's impeachment trial would begin in the Senate on Thursday, January 7, 1999.

Doesn't that depend on what your definition of the word, "is" is?

Clinton, an effective leader; please.

Let's talk about the worst illegal war in our time, yugoslavia. Ole billy boy killed women and children and destroyed a people's way of life.

How about Clinton's energy policy? Ooops, there was none. imagine what we could have come up with in the 90s to prevent today's crunch. Then Al Gore marches around telling us he knows it all?? He was there for 8 freakin years!!

Border security?? Clinton is the same as Bush = AWEFUL!

Exporting jobs over seas?? Yep, Bush Sr started it, but Bill made it BOOM!

So, Bill gets all the credit for the great economy huh. This is the greatest myth told since the one about Bush being a consertive. Lets examine:

In the early 90s, there was great advances being made in the computer industry. The internet had been around but was now being able to make people's life better and eaiser. With capitol investment avaliable, silcon valley began building computers that every 3 months made the previous models crap. Consequently, the american public seeing all the "cool" things they could do on the computer, continued to purchase them. Now you had R&D, manufacturing, sales, and service industries booming. People had jobs to make money to buy what they were produceing. An ape could have been president at the time and this still would have happened. Bill Clinton was NOT the reason for the great 1990s economy. As someone who wired up the infrastructure that runs the "net" at Cisco, yahoo, intel, 3com, SGI, and on and on, I personally was involved in this growth.

Fast forward to 2000. Remember, a president doesn't take office until the January after the election which would be 2001. I can remember massive lay offs and having my hours cut down to 4 days per week in late 2000 early 2001 because of the forecasted economic down turn. Computer development had reached a peak where someone could have a computer for a few years before it went obsolete. Add this to the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs and we were in trouble. George Bush should have been facing an econimic colapse in 2001 when he took office. His first 4 years should have been a recession. It was all forecasted and in motion. Then on the morning of September 11th, 2001 some scume of the earth unleashed a terriable horror on us and the world changer. Already facing a major economic downturn, George Bush was now facing a total colapse. Three things he did invented this new "false" economy. First, he cut the bank rates. Remember al of the sudden you could get a 30 year mortgage for 4%? I bought my first home in 2001 before this and re-financed down from my 7% rate in August to 4.5% in December!! Second, he needed to rebuild the military that Clinton had gutted. Like it or not, if Bill had spent some more money on the military, we might not have had 9/11; end of story. Moving on, military spending always gives a boost to the economy. Look at what brought us out of the great depression, look at Regan's spending in the roaring 80s, and look at Bush's "war on terror" spending. That was a big boost to the economy. Third and final, remember those car loans being offered for 0%? Credit got so avaliable that people went nuts. This was the birth of the housing crisis. You had all these people taking the equity out of their houses and buying cars and bass boats; financing FLW tournaments with their home's equity!! Well, that can't last. We were lucky to make it last for 5 years.

I get so frustrated when they give Bill Clinton Credit for the 90s economy. I am someone who worked in the industry that created the economy in the 90s and Bill Clinton was mearly a figure head. If not for Ross Perot in 1992, Bill would have never took office. Then if not for Republican stupidity in 1996 by nominating Bob Dole, he would not have remained in office.

Thanks for reading

Let's see, balanced budgets, jobs, war in Kosovo fought the way a war should be, that did not leave 4000+ of our soldiers dead and did not cost the country over 12 billion dollars a month. Yes Dave your right those days sucked. I would much rather have the position we do now, bailouts, unemployement, prolonged war that won't be won, housing market in the dumps, record oil prices, record deficits, yea baby, this is the way to live.

Clinton couldnt lead a pack of starved wolves with read meat . Period ..on his "balanced budget" Like Ive said before....On your own house hold bills ....if you dont pay a house bill at all ( compare to nearly removing the military expenses ,and tell your employer to pay you 20% more ....do the math...see how much better you are ?Congrats...you are now a world class economics major!! We in America were over taxed ,and under provided . People racking up bills ,credit cards, toys ,homes etc,etc..Bush didnt do..I admit ..I upgraded a couple things...I spent my money..and will continue ,except now I gather I will get help with maybe Obama dipping into more.....funny...everybody that has money in the stock market now is angry hurt and scared (myself included) One year ago...nearly everyone was patting them selves on the back cause each and everyone is a genius . Its a bad year ,ohh how I know...Point being...is it just me ....or does anyone "especially a Obama follower " take any responsibility for anything negative ?
Do not fear the enemy, for they can take only your life.
Fear the media far more, for they will destroy your honor.

I think that Obams real appreciation of having ol slick Willy's endorsement would be like putting a band aid on a stubbed toe, a necessary evil.

Face it and get over it will ya, to all of you Clinton Lovers out there.

He was a crook, a cheat, an adulterer, a lair. and a un-caught thief. A national dick of a joke to others and to think that you actually wanted Hillery for president ?

What burns me even more is some ware they are going to build a library in his name, give him national honors when he dies and around the clock secret service security, all on yours and my dollars !

I say throw the son of a bitch to the wolves !

How many times are you willing to shoot your self in the foot until you go ouch !?

Just like ol tricky Dick was !
