Re: New Curado
Are you asking about D series or E series?
The new E series is $179 and well worth it, as is the now old D series if you can find one.
These are new generation reels, and should not be compared to the original Curado in anyway. Other than the fact they are a Shimano product and will pass the test of time as has the original.

Re: New Curado
I am really enjoying the two that I have - The E7 for swimbaits and the E5 for cranking.
What I really like about them is that the spool is further foreward up my thumb compared to the Revo's. And I am having less spool over-runs with the Shimano breaking system over the Revo's.
For the price -- I would get another Shimano instead of the Revo STX.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Re: New Curado
If you're talking about the D's, I love the 100D's ... the 200D's are just too big for my taste.
I have two 200E7's right now. They are smaller than the 200D's ... they cast as good if not better than any of the older Curado's I have. Their drag is definitely better. But it's still a bit bigger than my 100D's ...
A little trick for those who use the 100D's ... you can change out the gears to get 5:1 ratio for cranking ... I've done that with all my Citica 100D's ... they work GREAT for cranking with the 5:1 gears.

Re: New Curado
The Curado E are nice reels. I have one each of the the Curado E and Citica E. There are nice point about both reels...small profile, huge line capacity, well engineered.
In my opinion, unless you toss finesse stuff on a baitcaster, the Citica E is the bargain reel for the money. It'll do what the Curado E does for $60 less.

Exept the 300E has the really large spool. Other than that.......
I NEED TO BUY ONE!

Re: New Curado
You're correct. The 300 size is only available in the Curado and not in the Citica.outdoorsman wrote:Exept the 300E has the really large spool. Re: New Curado
OK, Sounds like the E series is acceptable. I have been looking on Ebay for the D's but have found nothing as of yet. So I will give the E a try. What is the difference in line capacity between the 200 and 300? And are the E's as bullet proof as the D's were?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: New Curado
Texas, you have a PM, and yes the D series is as bullet proof as the E series. They did add one bearing to the E but it is not a
performance critical upgrade.

Re: New Curado
I have both the 200E and 100D's. I think the 200E's are a little smoother and cast slightly farther for me. However, I think the 100D's are more comfortable for me especially since I have smaller hands.
Also, I like the 100's since you never really need the line capacity of the 200. Or at least I don't.
If anyone has any 100D's in like new condition, I'll trade you a brand new 200E.
