it was my first time there.
the shads are caught with mesh net.
i was using the wrong type of net and couldnt get any shads.lol
i stuck it out with THE 4 IN SHAD COLOR HUDDS

Thanks. we went Monday. The lake was sooooo low. We threw everything in the way of swim baits, drop shots, cranks etc and no luck. The guy at the boat rental said throw nets are outlawed in California. Other than a seine we use in the rivers back home I am unaware of any other method. Thanks anyway and I will look in to it. Its kinda funny out here though...most lakes have a bait shops in conjunction with the boat rentals and they have shad, baby trout, minnows etc? do they not do that here?

i know what you mean.
for instance, COLORADO RIVER: you can use live shiners, gold fish, or even blue gills.
S.D.COUNTY: you can buy live shiners.
