Greg, that finding about Blue versus Red states doesn't surprise me one bit as I think there's a pretty obvious relationship between educational achievement and political views.

Its been my own experience that the more educated a person becomes the more liberal their views of the world. Higher education leads people to broaden their perspectives and think outside the narrow self-centered views of conservative thought. I myself was a Republican at the beginning of my education; believe it or not, the first vote I cast in my life was for Bush Sr.

Among people with advanced graduate degrees (MDs and PhDs), I've personally noticed that liberals are much more common than conservatives. And that trend is even more remarkable when you consider that these individuals tend to be well off financially and so would be otherwise more inclined to vote for a Republican party that promotes policies favoring weathy people.

Obviously there will always be exceptions to any trend but I think the general trend is accurate.

Our education system is overrun with liberals and a liberal agenda so the longer an individual is in our education system the more indoctrinated they are to liberal views. If they happen to disagree the more they would be ridiculed by teachers and class mates. So I agree the more educated would likely also be more liberal.

Is someone who choses pro life vs pro choice dumber for this belief?

Is someone who believes taxing wealthy job creaters and corporations will reduce jobs and hurt the economy..is that person dumber then the liberal who wants these groups taxed more?

Is someone who believes we should finish the job in Iraq stupid?

Is someone who believes we should start drilling for more oil and start building nuclear plants right now for future energy dumb or is a wind turbine on everyone's house a better idea (as long as the wind blows enough and not over about 30mph or the turbine will be damaged).

Was allowing low income people to continue to receive home loans a bad idea when the odds were they coudn't pay them off? Barney Frank, Franklin Raines, Nancy Pelosi and most of the democrates in congress thought it was a great idea and were all smarter then the republicans and blocked an attempt by republicans to regulate this. They must have known better then the dumb republicans.

I agree the "red" states have different attitudes but how smart do you have to be to make a morale or common sense decision? By the way I have a college degree and work in a very clinical environment, still bass outsmart me about half the time. So count me among the dumb group.

Example: In 2004 years ago my dad had all of his facilities and became very disenchanted with the Bush administration and their policies however voted a straight republican ticket and swore he'd never vote for a Republican President.

I have quoted Louis Farrakhan telling his followers that when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

I've taken an IQ test several times. The lowest was 135.

I've got to admire you, with a score like that and you'll still admit to being for Obama.
I've only taken one test, other than mil. entrance exams. . I scored 147 on it .
And even though I know I'm not as smart as some people, I am a proud supporter of McCain.

I think we need more info on that study before anyone takes it as fact.
