A fellow fireman and A great fisherman
Just so you know... Most here would never have heard of Jim Peterson. He's a Fire Captain and Paramedic at Metro Fire. He is also a passionate bass fisherman who had big plans of "hitting it hard" after he beat his bladder cancer. He just bought a brand new Ranger as a present for promoting to Captain and getting great news on his battle with this deadly form of small cell cancer. Well, as the saying goes "if you want to hear God laugh, just tell him your plans". It turns out "Peety" took a turn for the worse and won't be using his bass boat any more. He's getting ready to go home to finish out his time here and won't be able to make it out any more. Although you may not have ever even heard of him, next time your out fishing and the fish aren't cooperating for you, or maybe the weather turns bad and the wind is blowing, just remember at least God gave you another opportunity to go fishing once again. Between his responsibilities with his boys and work, Jim never got the chance to chase his dreams like some of us have. God Bless you Peet. Those of us who got to know you are richer for it. I feel more for those who never had the privelege of meeting you and calling you "friend". Thanks for sharing my boat with me. I'm going to miss you alot and next time things aren't going right in a tournament, I will still feel blessed for the opportunity to spend so much time doing the things I love so much.
Life is short. Live fast and play hard

I had the honor of working with "Petey" for many years before retiring. He is a great person and thru out lifes troubles and trials he has always held his head high. He is a good person. It is very sad that the good guy doesn't always win. Put Pete has always done it with style.
My thoughts and prayer are with him.

From the San Jose Fire Department, another fellow fireman, and a brother bass angler - all the best. Our thoughts and prayers are with Petey and his family.
