Re: We have lost our friend Jim Peterson
I'm sorry to day Jim passed away Monday the 15th. His birthday was Friday the 12th, he just turned 46 years old. Thank God I got to take him fishing on his birthday, he got to drive his boat for the last time, but he was very happy to be doing what he loved best, fishing.
We thank each and everyone of you who prayed, gave comfort and good thoughts to our family. Jim(Peet, as his firefighter friends called him) will be greatly missed, he was my son, my friend and my fishing partner. Again thank you all.

It certainly is sad to hear this news, in the prime of life by a terrible disease this is a terrible loss. Please share these words.
When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage,
give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late,
or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout,
and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me,
to guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life,
bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.
God’s speed my brother

I don't know Mr. Peterson .... But my thoughts and prayers go out to his Family as well.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Peet was a good friend, a great person and a dedicated firefighter. Although his life was shortened he touched many, many other lives during his time with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tracy, his children, Paul and Connie.
THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
Thank you guys for your good thoughts, prayers and support. Jim or Peet(which the firefighters called him) was not only my son, but my buddy and my fishing partner. Jim got to go fishing for the last time on his birthday Friday the 12th.(with the help from two wonderful firefighters) and passed on Monday the 15th. I am sure Jim's thoughts of running his Ranger full bore and getting to do a little spooning for stripers stuck with him till the Lord took him home. I will truly miss my son a lot. My family and I sincerely appreciate all of your support. God bless you all.
