Disco action?

Post by 201Pro »

Guys,

Anyone been out the disco after these linesides? What the water temp there is?

I'm thinking of launching from Orwood Friday and fishing Disco.

I have not been in there for 2 weeks or better .. Or even targeting them anymore as LM's is what I want to get on a pattern for. This year I have never been able to locate any shad as in the years past for my time (mornings and dusk/nights ) in DBay. (Never even seen a Sea Lion in there this year. )

Have been fishing long dead end sloughs with grass on the sides where the Bluegills have been sunning themselves durring the blue bird Oct, Nov and first part of Dec. ~ Rip baitin' on tops of weeds on high tides. SB's in front of weed line on low tides. Haven't messed with top-water in a while now. -- But have a Punker and PP both on the deck just incase I ever come across a boil.

Water everywhere is still gin-clear..... and getting colder fast. With the lack of bait ~ I think they will me making an early break from the delta and be heading back out to the Bay/Ocean before the Big Pig's even come up in Jan/Feb to Sherman before they decide witch way to spawn. ~ My Image

Kris and I stopped in and visited with our BrothA F last week and he said he was on them his last outings for some Awesome days ... Between Mandiville and Pittsburg.

Question -- Has anyone here even seen any shad balls this year -- "conistantly" at all ?? -- other than mabey in three places ? Lat year was cold ...... But it was not THAT cold to cause the shortage of Shad that I have been seeing seeking warmer waters for this time of year.

Anyhow ... I BrothA Guy Kelley'ed enoufgh on this subject.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years Everyone ..... And may our waters get more protection and habitat restoration in '09 ~ !! Image

Cheers,
Dan
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

I was on a fairly consistent bite in a couple of Disco bays early this month. The key word there is WAS.

You might find a couple of fish but I predict they will be hard to find & smaller.

Swimtail type baits & rip baits were what worked the last time.

Good Luck.

Went out and fished Disco, marina side, without any biters ... fished that side to avoid the bone chilling BREEZE ... a little more protected from the westerly winds. Only bite I got was a 2# LMB ... no linesides I could find. Bait are scattered and not balled up ... didn't see any birds working either! :(

Water temp was around 44-45 ... not sure if I was colder or the fish I caught. But be sure, I WAS COLD in the breeze and in the shade!!

Fished Kellog side this morning (12/29). Just like 201Pro, we didn't get a bite at all in Disco.

Went out to surrounding areas but only managed one undersized Stripe. Tried to get a couple of LMB later on. One missed Senko fish & one LMB (2lbs) on a ripbait is all we got.

Tough fishing today.

I fished Disco today and didn't even get a bite. I threw swimbaits and the Lunker Punker for most of the day.
