need an ice fishing clue

Post by MikeD »

off to Minn at the end of the month for some ice fishing with my brother, neither of us has a clue as to rigs, bait, locations, etc. Flying into Min-St Paul, looking right now at Lake Minnetonka but open to any and all help, figured I'd ask here while I comb the intro-nets via the google for more clues.

I am originally from MN and spent 25 years there. I am not sure if you are stuck in Minneapolis area or not but if you are free to go anywhere. I would suggest going to Mille Lacs Lake. There are plenty of resorts that will set you up with a house, rods, bait, food, and of course plenty of beer for a reasonable price.
I have only fished Minnetonka in the summer time for bass. I am sure there are some resorts there with similar options but Mille Lacs should have some good walleye action this time of year. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
If I call in sick, I am probably on the Delta.

Lake Mille Lacs is the closest and great fishing . Also Gull lake is great. If going to gull try Dan the Walleye Man. He guides in the summer and Sets up Ice fishing houses in the winter.
