Revo stx

Post by fishingflip415 »

Just wondering if anyone that has experience with the revo stx could give me a rundown of the reel. I own shimano curodos d's and the e's so how would they compare. Also I have a zillion never tried abu so was just thinking of trying one. Just wanted some opinions before I purchase.

I have both, the revo stx and the curado's. I would stick to the Curado's. I think they are built way better and last longer than the Revo's.

I have been using the Revo Stx and Sx Models for the last year.I really like the way the reels fits in the palm of my hand.
The STX can cast light baits with ease. The Sx functions better with heavier baits.
You will like the Revo's.My suggestion is if you plan on throwing cranks, spinnerbaits, topwater (heavier baits) I would buy the sx model.
My only question about the Revo.
Can the Revo's hold up as well as the Curado's can?
I have a few of the old green curado's that have been used for 7 to 8 years with no problems.

I will start this of by saying I am not sponsored by any of these companies.....

By far, my favorite reel is the OLD green Curado - I own many and continue to buy them as I can find them

I have a Revo STX.....that I have tried to use as my Senko reel..and I do not like it.....

Simply put, it doesn't feel right.......go with a Shimano

I am sponsored by Abu so I am definitely biased, but I will tell you that I have turned a bunch of my friends and other people onto the Revo's and to my knowledge they have all been very satisfied. I am personally a fan of the SX, it is cheaper and I do not notice much of a difference at all. Good luck finding the right reel for you!

the shimanos fit better in my hand. It might just be because im so used to them. To bad they dont sell the old green ones any more.

I am pretty much all for shimano but I do own one zillion. I just never tried an abu and was just wondering if I was missing something. Anyways I am very happy with my shimano reels and consider myself a shimano guy. Thanks for the input on the subject. Anyone else have any opinions?

I have been using the SX for a year now. At first I did not like it as much as I do now. I am slowly adding more of them to my collection. I think that I have them on six of my rods. I just like them.

justin, i think that's the first time i've heard someone say that. last year, when i was trying to decide between the SX and STX, i read a lot of opinions and many people seemed to believe there were big differences between the two, especially when it came to casting small/lighter lures (with STX being far better). however, it was also my impression that the STX was significantly more polarizing; people seemed to either really love it or really hate it.

I've got a lot of Shimanos and I have been thinking about getting the Revo Skeet Reese model to try. I've been using the Revo Inshore for Salt water bass fishing for a while now and really like them. I figure they are worth a try.
