A guy I know uses a MH for working Senkos..Truth be known, anything you can do with a M or ML you can do with a MH..Maybe not as well, but they will get the job done..

I use one with braid for froggin. I use one with heavier mono for senkos and such. They are mostly for people like co-workers and my daughter on the few occaisions that I have inexperienced people on the boat. They are great for less experienced people. I like them for rip baits. I prefer a spinning rod to a casting rod for rip baits, just my preference.

Line size would depend on the waters I was fishing..Clearlake and the Delta, I would tend to use heavier line (8 to 12 pound test), for most of the rest I would use 8 pound or lighter..There was a time when I only used 8 pound test on all my reels..Since fishing both the Delta and Clearlake my line test has increased..Now I use a lot of 12 to 17 pound test..

I have a loomis sjr 783 glx that is a great all around rod for bubba shot, t-rig, 1/4 oz jigs, flukes, topwater. I tend to use 6-8 lb fluoro and braid with it. I like throwing small finesse jigs w/ it alot. I guess the good thing about med-hvy spinning rods is that you can use it for many different techniques. Different manufacturers power ratings/action can be quite different, some lighter or heavier than others.
