Do a search or make a post over on Bass Boat Central..... Lots of good info there regarding set-ups......

I have ran the 20X with the 225. If I can help answer some of your questions drop me an email or pm. Pretty sure I can help you. Probably easier to answer your questions via the phone.

Re: 07 merc 225 opti on Triton tr21
I'm running a 21X with 225 Opti. I think you'll find the best all around prop to be the 26 Tempest +. Mine has the smallest plugs in the prop. It used to blow out on take-off with larger plugs but playing around with plugs is a cheap way to fiddle without spending a bunch of money. I've been hearing really good things about the new Fury prop but have no first hand knowledge. I would have to check but I think my motor is 3" below the pad on a manual 6" Hi-Jacker. I can just tickle 70 mph when by myself and when I can control the chine walk. It will go faster but I can't get the driving down. Also the advice about Bass Boat Central is good lots of knowledge over there. But if you can get KB to help you out that would be best. He's probably run every Triton out there. If it's not set-up right, I'd trust him to get it done.

Thanks Nocal. I didnt think the 21X hull is the same as the Tr21 Hull. I was told my hull is alittle wider and more stable, but not as fast as the X.
Re: 07 merc 225 opti on Triton tr21
Not 100% sure but I think you have it reversed. I've heard that the pre-X boats are faster. I don't know 'cause I can't drive it to it's potential anyway!

McLovin ~ What year is your hull ?
Mine is a 2000 and I changed from a 6" JP to a 10" JP recently. I had to keep on raising it to get more of the chine out of the boat. It was "almost" finally dialed in when I started to get alot less chine finally and turning 5600 rpm's on 27p Tempest. (two plugs open - one 3/4 plug)
My hole-shot has always been awesome no matter what. I recently took it in and Team Inland and they raised the motor one notch so I now have room again as originally with the 6" JP to trim/tilt the motor up all the way up ~ w/o the hyd stearing ram hitting the JP and preventing it from comming up further with stress on the stearing bushing/washer.
My last run on Thursday I was chining again - almost as bad as where I originally started with the new 10" JP. So I raised it another 1/2" this time to try out.
I have been turning 5600 R's and 73.1 on the gps with the 27p Tempest with full tank and equipment. At/above 5300 r's I would have to drive through the chine.... But it was easy to work through when timed right and there would be no more chine.

Dean -- Something for you to try as well besides raising your JP up more -- Fill your passenger livewell to help counter balance your weight.
IMO ~ 3" below pad sounds way too deep to me and is causing your chine that you can not get rid of.
When you get your boat dialed in -- It will be spot on for you. ~~ Just keep experimenting with your JP in raising it. The plugs in your prop will have almost nothing to do with your chine problem.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
