OMG that helicopter.
At least they could give Bush a last ride on a decent helicopter. I think I saw one like that in a boneyard when I was in aircraft engine repair school in Fort Eustis, VA in 1966. The instructor pointed at it and said, "That was a failure, It was made as a troop transport and it would haul 8 men - no more. I was looking for turbine engines but didn't see any.

I missed that (since I dont really consider this a great day for America so I have not watched any of the coverage) what kind of helo was it?
CHANGE is not a destination, and HOPE is not a strategy!

I think it's a great day for America because this is the 44th time we've seamlessly progressed someone else into the highest office of our country and there are a lot of other nations that envy that. Some take so much for granted.

I agree 100% about that Tony – There are only a few countries that can do that and we were the first country to do so.sTony wrote:I think it's a great day for America because this is the 44th time we've seamlessly progressed someone else into the highest office of our country and there are a lot of other nations that envy that. It was Marine One. A VH-3 Delta. It actually wasn't called Marine One on G-dubs last flight because he was no longer President. Greg, being an aircraft mechanic you oughta know that time in service says a lot about any given airframe. If you're going to be flying around the President, you want something that has proven itself over many years. Marine One is a good example of this.

I didn't see the one that picked him up at the White House. I think this was a second flight. But it looked like something they'd phased out years ago. It of course wasn't but man I'd like to ride off into the sunset in something pretty.
