WON BASS SEASON CHANGES
Re: You lost me, sorry
When I first found out about the HBC I thought to myself, man one lucky guy can take this thing. So far its proven me wrong. The two guys that have won so far are guys that catch big ones all the time, go figure.

Hutch;
Is it true you guys lost the Nitro sponsor??
Thanks; Big Ed!

Re: WON BASS SEASON CHANGES
WON can say what they want but a 1 fish tourney does not save money over a 5 fish tourney. Hutch did not address this.
Eric is right WON "IS" attempting to capitalize on the HBC success.
Bad form.

Re: WON BASS SEASON CHANGES
Lets get real guys. What CAN hutch say at this stage that won't have you all jumping him. Nitro pulls the sponsorship for the pro-ams and there are no more boats. WON HAS to cancel the pro-ams because they can't run these events and give away boats they don't have. They could do a pro-am format like they used to but everyone is going to complain how reduced the prizes are. So they try and do something else and we all jump them again.
Want to see what the real picture looks like... I am guessing their tournament budget is gone. Show a profit or your job is gone kind of budget cuts. Why a 1 fish tournament? Staff required to run it. 100 boats weighing in 12 pound limits for points and the next day take MUCH MUCH MUCH more staff time and resources than 30 boats weighing in 1 fish each. There is no points race so if your big fish weighs 2 lds... your not weighing in. Hotel, food and travel costs are all reduced when the tournament crew is Hutch and 1 or 2 more people. It probably costs 1/3 as much to run a shoestring tournament compared to a full blown 10-15 staff member event when travel is involved.
I requested my depositis back from Hutch via e-mail. i got a response the same day expressing his regret that things did not work out as planned. The letter arrived the same day and was very personable and professional. For all the back seat drivers out there..... now is the perfect time to start this dream org that pays back 110% to both am and pro with new boats, trucks and houses as prizes for the season championship that all the fisherman feel should be possible and still make a profit for the parent orginization.

Re: WON BASS SEASON CHANGES
I'm totally shocked to hear that WON or any bass fishing circuit would have to change their format because of our economy.
First 100 percent pro teams now WON Pro-Am...... who is next?
I do not agree with WON's new format because it is now a slug fest instead of a Pro-Am tournament.
Won will probably now draw less then 50% of what they did last year which maybe their demise. (my .02)
I do wish WON the best of luck during these tough economic times

IT IS OVER!!!......Run into the ground by poor decision making........and sadly that has been par for the course.
Word is, participation will not even get to the level of PATHETIC.
The end isn't just near.....the pallbearers have been called and told when to meet.
This has been one sorry---poorly thought-out alternative to a difficult situation.
The future will clearly have an alternative to fill the void----another circuit will cover 'our' loss. but it is w/great sadness that this has spiralled from Naslund....to Kennedy.....to now this foolish end!!

Re: WON BASS SEASON CHANGES
Maybe WON will come back next year with a stand alone Pro-am weight format!!!!
Sorry, just hoping out loud. I'd like to have an option other than the Ranger owners series (FLW).

Are you kidding me? FLW pays more BEFORE the owners option than WON or WestCoast.fishinfool145 wrote: I'd like to have an option other than the Ranger owners series (FLW).
