LAKE ISABELLA
LAKE ISABELLA
I've never been!
Any help on when the Spring bite typically starts as well as launch location and convenient places to stay would be greatly appreciated.

Hold on if the wind comes up!
Try Lime dyke, it has a nice horseshoe saddle, if it has water.

Re: LAKE ISABELLA
I was fishing that lake when Steve Merlo caught his 18. I always enjoyed fishing it. The trip up the canyon back in the day was not fun, but now not a bad trip.
Re: LAKE ISABELLA
Both ABA and WON are having tournaments at Isabella this year. You can check the schedules on their respective web sites.

Re: LAKE ISABELLA
Big HAWGS swim in the waters at Issy. Doesn't get the pressure of a lot of lakes and the locals keep things real quiet.
Re: LAKE ISABELLA
I hear the lake is really windy and they have sirens to let you know when its getting too ugly.

Create your own luck.

Re: LAKE ISABELLA
You might get some rollers over the side of your boat if your not paying attention at the end of either of the two forks. It can get real bad real fast out there, but its still a great power fishing lake
Re: LAKE ISABELLA
They no longer have the sirens or flags . Yes, it can get windy and nasty in a hurry. I've found it's best to launch at Engineers Point rather than the other ramps because it is out of the wind . some of the other ramps are really a problem to load at because of cross winds when it gets bad. If you launch at Engineer point most likely you will be returning into the wind instead of taking it broadside.
Also watch out for submerged rocks and trees , they are all over the place.

Re: LAKE ISABELLA
My grandparents used to live up there and if I remember correctly my grandmother actually caught a monster trout one day that I think was nearly a record. Even though I was younger (8 or so) I remember her being so proud of it and my grandfather kind of blowing it off.
