Brent Ehrler/Skeet Reese. Take your pick. Not even close. Rick G.

Interesting,

Most guys here don't utilize Crankbaits as much as our guys do after eastern exposure. I have seen Reese, Tyler, Monroe and Martens all using Crankbaits much more after years on the tour. I would have to say the best I have ever met an learned from over all would be David Fritts.

But the Western guys aspect, hmmmm Skeet Reese.

Probably forgetting someone....

Past 5 years, McAbee Jr., he knows when ta pick it up and WIN with it. Much like KVD. Just because a guy tosses it all the time, likr Fritts, Elias or Davis, or has a great event on the Delta like Ehrler, Skeet and Andrews, don't make him the best.

Jeff Coble or David Wright over all hands down with me leaning towards Coble.

West? Ehrler!

I have no idea who is best at using them, but I think I have the market cornered on buying them..Now I just gotta learn when and where to use them to the greatest advantage..

That question is way too easy. Heck, even Kent can get that one correct. :)

Funny. Good left jab there Dewayne :D :D I'd put Randy McAbee up against anyone with a crankbait. He** 95% of the anglers couldn't stand beside him and cast all day.

Questions like the "best" are questions that we normally try to avoid. What is the yardstick to measure the best? Earnings fishing tournaments or number of fish per hour, or number of big bass caught on crankbaits? Who has a major crankbait company sponsoring them and eraned the most money from the west; Skeet Reese.
There are other "western pros"; Dean Rojas, Gary Klien, Jay Yelas for example, are skilled crankers when cranks are needed.

not a bad idea...... I was thinking about holding an open tournament that allows jig fishing only....... maybe follow it up with a crank bait only tournament.......

i see a guy at melones several times a week. throws everything on a spinning rig. this guy can absolutely kill them with cranks. no idea who he is or his name, but he scores well. i have never witnessed anyone land them on cranks as consistent as this guy. tin boat with his dog. he has my vote hands down!!
