Sonoma County Float tubers at Berryessa this Saturday.
Just a heads up. The Sonoma County Belly Boat Bass Club is having there first tournament of the year this Saturday, Feb 7th.
We'll be launching and blasting off at Cappell cove at 6:30AM. We'll be weighing in at 3:30PM. We always have a few new anglers that aren't ramp wise. We do all we can to speed eveyone along and get them into the water and off the ramp as quickly as possable. We're expecting 25 to 30 kick boats. Thanks for keeping an eye out for the float tubers.

I was out there yesterday with my club. Morning was fine, everyone was respectful of the ramp area and the 2 lanes were open. Upon getting back around 4, the ramp was a mess. Guys parking their trucks and taking up a lane for a meeting or weigh in? Isn't the parking lot a better place? The line to pull boats out went all the way up toward the gate and then around. Sorry, but, that was wrong! Had to wait 40 minutes for the 2nd lane to free up and get the ramp flowing again. Not trying to ruffle feathers, but, hopefully the message on ramp ettiquette is heard.

Its all good tritonTR21 (you own a boat I'm guessing?), at least I got to fish and enjoy a tug or 2 at the end of my line. I admit it was frustrating waiting and wondering if you guys were just loading up the toons. Hopefully some of your guys can learn ramp ettiquette from this experience.
Results, our club had 7 or 8 limits, nothing big. Tough for most. Fish averaged 1-2 lbs with a near 5 big fish. Most everyone used finesse and jigs in deeper water 20-40 FOW

I was also there Saturday.
The ramp was an absolute mess.
"To Me" what really pissed me off was it didn't appear to bother anyone in the float tube tournament that they were blocking half the ramp. I felt like it was summer and we were waiting for a bunch of yahoo's who take their boat out twice a year.
I stayed calm through the whole thing saying to myself that they are fellow bass fishermen. Even now I'm typing this because I was in that line that circled the parking lot waiting to get my boat out.
I have a lot of respect for you guys, you tough the cold, you fish all day, and you work hard so you can enjoy fishing, but after Saturday you've lost a lot of my respect.
Sorry for this flaming response.

I was also there on Saturday and it was indeed a joke. The tubers had one lane blocked the whole time. They need to get their tubes out of the water and get the heck out of the way then finish getting things in order in the parking lot like everyone else does. Can you imagine what it's going to be like when the weather gets "good" and we have to deal with drunken skiers and lake lice on top of the inconsiderate tubers??
There is a petition on this forum to try and get the ramp at Putah Creek opened, please take the time to sign it so we can have another launching option.

we'll you dont need to worry about us because we wont be going to that fishery this year again. i apologize for the problems that we did cause but we dont need to be classified as the inconsiderate tubers or bunch of yahoo's
that was not necessary. but im trully sorry to not meet your standards of ramp ettiquette.

Apology Accepted.
Yes it was a brutal place to fish this weekend, I agree with you there.
Thanks,

i am one of the tooners and yes you are right it was a mess and we should of got our 36 tubes out of the water and let the boat ramp be used for boats you are correct. i am a previous boat owner and no what it is like.
but on our side when i was trying to launch my boat i waited up top to get into the parking lot for 10 minutes because there were truck and trailers blocking the entrance and then when i finally got through to launch my toon coming back up i waited another 15 minutes to get back through the top so i could park my truck on the top of the hill in a pullout.
there were alot of boaters getting on plain in the 5mph zone i was fishing that point right there and there had to be 5-6 boats getting on plain 50-100 yards before the 5mph zone ended, zig zaggin between us kickboaters.
