Warranty charges? Curado 200DHSV

I recently sent my Curado 200 DHSV in to have the levelwind upgraded after being toast. I was under the impression that this is a common issue with this reel and there was a recall for it (or so I thought).

I send the reel in, only to find that the a ball bearing, drag washer, drive gear, and pinion gear were all replaced...? Is that normal, or did I have some other sort of problem? The reel seems great now, so no complaints there.

The punchline came in the mail when I got a $30 invoice for the repairs, on something that I thought was a recall issue with this reel.

Is this normal? Or do I have reason to be surprised about seeing an invoice for something I thought should have been covered?

Please send me a PM with your name and address so I can look up your account. The technician should have done the level wind upgrade only unless he found that the reel was in need of other repairs. At that point he should have contacted you.

I am currently in Oregon so next week I will be able to get this handled for you.
