A couple of years back I was building a custom home for a wealthy black woman, during the end of the job the conversation of racism was brought up by her thirty year old daughter who lives in Richmond, she said she has never met a white man that was not racist. I couldn’t let it go so I gave her mother a scenario and asked her to be completely honest when answering my questions.


You are walking alone down East 13th st downtown Oakland at 2:00 am when you notice three black guys approaching you wearing saggy pants and bandanas around their heads, you turn and look across the street and see three white guys wearing Dockers and polo shirts what do you do Mrs. Trumble she responds, “I think it’s obvious that any normal person will cross the street and head for the white guys in the Dockersâ€

I then reversed the situation by telling her to put the white guys as Skinheads and across the street were black men wearing Dockers and polo shirts, she smiled and said I guess I’m prejudice too.
I told her that everyone is prejudice in their own way but it should not be mistaken for racism.
From what I hear, her daughter told the story to her pastor and he now uses it in his church today.

C’mon Jeff, see what a closed mind gets you . In your rush to disagree and put a racist label on me you failed to get all the facts and that is exactly the argument I was making with my story,
I can substitute the Skinheads for Hillbillies if that get the point across.

Being from the south I concue with Jeff here I remember going to middle school in Grand Prairie,Tx which was right next to South GP High and becuase Coach Harris (a black man) ran on the High School Football field with a REBEL flag the KKK came to protest!

I remember seeing the fear in the black kids eyes as the teacher stared closing all the blinds and told all the kids to get under thier desk it was quite tramatic and at that moment in 7th grade I relized somthing was very wrong here. Nothing bad happen they just stood out side South GP High and protested using language that most in California would be shot for using.

Then I came to California for the first time in the mid 80's I was in high school and worked at subway in Rancho Cordova,Ca at nights. One night walking home I got jumped by 5 black guys who were claiming "CRIPS" I got beat down for they say walking on there tuff! I fought back with everything I had and never let up!

The next night I carried my dads hand gun with me in a back pack and sure enough they approched me again but this time they be-friended me saying I had "Heart" Gang slang for being "Down"

I spent the next 2 years running with them Jamal,Chris,Adam and a host of others I come close to being killed many times in those 3 years before I was able to get my head on straight and went back home to Texas. But what I learned was this Blacks are just as racist as whites they hate us becuase thier parents put it in thier head that whites made em slaves just like my most southern families put in our heads growing up that blacks were benieth us.

So in reality I never had a black slave nor do I want one our parents are carring on their battles and pass it down. I broke that chain I am not racist or predj. I give everyone the same benifit of the dought till they prove me wrong and it dont matter if your black white green or yellow. Hate is a hard thing to let go of when its been pushed for so long in ones house.

But as generations come and go and more people forget or forgive the past the better place this world will be. YES I voted for a black man to run this country and it was a huge step I know, I gave him the benifit of the doubt and I am praying he dont let me down I hear the arguments about his stimulas plan but to me they are words lets see what really happens and how it unfolds before we cast stones.

Stimulas bill passed - we now have not only national healthcare thrown in as 'economic stimulas', we also have a brand new Federal Agency whose purpose is to store and track personal medical records..... wow!!!!

Where we Conservative blew it was in 2000 when Gore was running against Bush. At the time I thought Gore was the worst possible candidate and I was willing to vote for a Moderate. That was a big mistake – we should have let Gore win it, then when 911 came along he would have Fukk it up and he would have been out in four.

Then Carry came along and again I vote for the Moderate because Carry was other idiot – Carry would have only held the office for four years.
Now we have BHO and he is smart and believes in what he is doing which makes him a smart idiot and yes I’m scared of him. I don’t like him because of his ideological and philosophy not because he is black or should I say half black.

We pre-judge situations every day. It is the direct result of learning from our experience as well as the experience of others.

Your correct Locobass, I’m not that smart and the more I try to learn the more I know I don’t know – maybe that is the difference between you and me!
