Swim Jigs
I want to incorporate swim jigs into my arsenal and would appreciate some help. I'm not interested in the chatterbait style. I did a search and didn't find much info so I'm not sure how many of you use the technique.
I'm interested in what swim jigs you guys use. I want to narrow it down to a few quality ones, either off the shelf or custom, and go from there.

Next time down at The Hook, pick up a TNT Wadda Bomb! It's not just a flip bait, but when tipped with a Big Hammer 5" Wookie Whacker, it becomes an awesome smimmin' jig!

That's the video I watched that prompted me to ask about swim jigs. Will Hesch wrote:Check this TW v-log out: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/vlogpage ... de=VLOG048

I've heard about the technique for years, but never tried it, except for the times fishing a jig or texas rigged creature bait and a bass exploded on my lure as I reeled it in quickly to make the next cast. I've had bass hit it as the lure reaches the surface and is starting to come out of the water.
I like that Wadda Bomb with the Big Hammer.
I thought a swim jig would work well those times when conditions are not ideal for a spinnerbait, but bass are still willing to hit something moving faster than a jig on the bottom.
Thanks for the replies guys. Keep them coming.

I throw Bullet head jigs in 1/4 3/8 1/2 oz. If your lake fishing there nothing better to swim than a bullet wire loop weedguard and a varity of colors can be made custom with 5" yamamoto single tail grubs as trailers.

Re: Swim Jigs
I use but am not a rep for the persuader flippin jigs. My only bone to pick is that they don't come in a 3/4 or 1 oz
My second is the wadda and i use those all the time on the delta. they are great! I love to pair it with a paca craw chigger or another trailer that makes commotion after all why swim a jig if the trailer has no action? - is there an answer ?
I am looking forward to swimming the jig more this year as i expand on it in my arsenal good luck with your endeavor !!

Re: Swim Jigs
Question for Cooch....Is that a color combination you use the most often?
Bryan Vogt..... Central Cal Bassin
Re: Swim Jigs
I have had better success using the brown purple Bomb in this swimming technique. That Wookie, is my favorite color to attach. The white tail presents a unique contrast off the back of the jig. If they will not strike that, I will add a s208 Yamamoto Saltwater Swimbait.Bassin wrote:Question for Cooch....Is that a color combination you use the most often?

If the fish are not striking the bigger paddle tails, I'll switch up and use a Yamamoto Swimming Senko instead. This bait provides a much subtler tail action and slender profile.

Re: Swim Jigs
Wow Cooch, thanks for giving out your secret baits..One of the swing jig combinations I have done well with in the past is just a simple darter head with a small grub pinned on..I now use mostly the Yamamoto grubs, either single or double tailed, I used to use Mr Twister grubs..You can also attatch a saftey pin type spinner blade to the rig and make it even more attractive..Kind of like the old Beetle Spins, except larger..This type of presentation works better in shallow water than deep, at least that has been my experience..

Re: Swim Jigs
Cooch, is that a jig or a swimbait having a bad hair day?
