Re: Here ya go...
Yuma is quite pricey this time of the year due to snowbirds ....and is 1/2hr away. Consider staying in one of the cabins at Lake Martinez resort (basically same place as Fishers--just different parking lot) DON'T EXPECT MUCH AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
There are 3 or 4 houses to rent through Lake Martinez resort----if they worked on them for two to four months they might come up to the level of rustic.- - - - EXPECT HORRIBLE AND YOU WILL BE JUST A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED.
FISHING CAN BE VERY GOOD AS YOU HEAD INTO MARCH--WATCH THE SAND BARS!!

Wow,sounds like a nice place to stay
When you say rustic,Do you mean inside or a outhouse
What other bodies of water are around the area? Thanks,Todd
Re: Yuma,AZ.
Hi We stay at Martinez only in the cabins they are not the great. no tv or radio a small fridge and I bring my own towels. There number is 800-876-7004. The fishing is fun but you really have to becareful it is shallow. Have fun good luck
Yuma is still part of the
wild wild west.
and watch out for the sand bars or you'll end up like this...

Give Sportsman's Hideaway a call. They can give you some good info.

Also if you feel like fishing from the back of the boat they have a draw Pro/Am tournament:

Enjoy.

Re: Yuma,AZ.
Leaving the mouth of Fishers stay to the right.
Entering the mouth of Martinez stay to the right.
Follow anglers down pass the island.
Once you get pass the island its pretty simple.
Entering Squaw or the Cut to Senators stay to the left.
In Martinez watch out for the stump fields. Heck fish em'
If your alone, fish from Martinez on down south. Stay way from Ferguson, Clearlake, Picacho, Walters Camp until you get familiar with how the river runs.....
To be honest the shallower the water is the easier it is to run, people playing volleyball or birds walking around kinda give you a hint to go the other way......
If you do venture up North, and someone tells you to hug the Tules as you go up, you should be able to touch the Tules.

Re: Yuma,AZ.
LMAO
todd if you would like to camp you can do that for 10.00 a night
then you can pay to put the boate in the water
if you get a trailer 80.00 a night sleeps a few, you get the ramp for free and also a dock for the boat
you get 4-5 people in a trailer now the price is 20.00 or less a night and if you stay 5 nights the 6-7 is free
Little B
I'll take your 3-1 bet for 100.00

Todd.. bring a shovel
and 200 yds. of rope ... hehe... otherwise have the number of the Yuma tours jet boat that pulls all the botes of the sandbars.

here is some docks to fish

Here is what alot of the place looks like

I don't know about Martinez,
but there are a ton of sandbars in the Blythe area, and the warning signs are probably the same as near Martinez-if you see a flat surface on the river and then you round a bend and see a large area with rippling water, it probably aint stripers. It is probably a sandbar! Be careful and you'll have a great time. By the way Kirk, nice pics of those fish!
