Re: The Classic
We had Jimmy speak at our club meetings a couple of times. He said a lot of times when he introduces himself, the response is "Oh yeah, you're Skeet's brother"...
Bet Jimmy is really proud of little brother right about now though...
BTW Skeet spent a couple of his early years as a member of Redwood Empire Bass Club...

I have had Big George tell me that story, and I asked Skeet about it. His answer was funnier than george's story.

west coast east coast it doesnt matter, anyone of those guys can win on any body of water in the world. So can we please stop with all of the "B.A.S.S gives us no respect on the west coast crap"

Re: The Classic
Well you guys you can blame me for Skeet winning the classic. When I was up at Galaxie acouple of months ago Skeets boat was being rigged in the shop.I walked back their looked at his boat and gave little good luck touch on the boat. By goddlie it worked. Way to Skeet you brought that trophy back to Cali.
Re: The Classic
Pat it is funny you mention George and fan club. Just a couple of weeks ago Skeet and I walk into TNT in Lakeport and there was George and Pam Hawley and Jay McKindrey having dinner. We were shocked to see them and visited for a bit.
George and Jay gave the pink Skeet Reese Fan Club shirts back to him when he qualified for his first Bassmasters Classic and he still has them, I don't think he would take anything for them.
The highlight was we were with Mark Zona and he walked thru and went to the table and Pam asked if that was Peter T......Skeet and I laughed our butts off and called Z Peter for two days.

That is hilarious thanks for sharing. 2 questions 1. Is skeet going to be on ultimate bass next week and 2. When does the Clear Lake show air on ESPN (any word yet)?kb wrote:Pat it is funny you mention George and fan club. Re: The Classic
yea Vince I imagine he will be on the show this week. I think we will have to record it as I will be in Phoenix this weekend for the ISE show and I don't know where he will be yet. We haven't talked tonight but did exchange text messages and I will hear from him in a day or so when he returns to earth.....

Just got back from the Classic, to see Skeet on his rig this morning beanie pulled down to his eyes, ipod, bobbin his head....Dude was in the zone.... You knew he was going to win. Plain and simple looked like a Closing Pitcher on the deck of his boat.
With Batteries drained on day 2 and a spectator had to jump start him to get him in, this was simply his turn..... Congrats Skeet!

Sounds like the perfect time for StaynCharge, or one of the other running battery chargers, to come onboard as a sponsor.N.A.R wrote:Just got back from the Classic, to see Skeet on his rig this morning beanie pulled down to his eyes, ipod, bobbin his head....Dude was in the zone.... Re: The Classic
Dang KB,
I remember that now. We were all sitting at the Skylark in like 1991 with Jay talkin' smack about Skeet (didnt everybody back then) and Jay whipped out those goofy Pink Tee-Shirts (actually weren't they Yellow??) and we were all laughing our butts off thinking there is no way this cocky little punk fisherman is ever gonna make it big.
Damn I wish I still had that Tee-Shirt!!!!!! Those were the good 'ol days that's for sure.
Reminds me also of the story of how the Senko was developed based on what Skeet was doing with a weightless worm back then. And of course the whole true story about how Ribbit came to be. But that's for another day.
Thanks for the memories guys!!!
