Cameron Smith and Chuck Lavigne topped an experienced field to take top honors Sunday at Otay. The lake had been hammered the day before with 125 boat permits issued according to lake staff. Six or seven local and LA Clubs had tournaments there on Saturday.
The field consisted of a large number of local tournament winners from past years. Long, Kerr, Buckhanan, Keniry, Dickson, Holverson's, Leader, Berry, Morrin and a host of others, brought in 13 five fish limits in the pursuit of pre spawn fish.
Worms worked both medium and deep provided the nearly 19 pound limit for Smith and LaVigne. Art Berry and George Pernicano teamed up to crank their way to Second place with the big fish of tournament weighing 9.22lbs!! Kerr and Buckhanan, last years ABA San Diego Anglers of the Year, completed the podium with their 3rd place finish.
Thanks to all who came out and fished!! Pictures and results should also be up on the ABA website today.

Re: Smith & Lavigne Top ABA at OTAY!
WOW - what a field!
Congratulations to Art for a good finish... great to see his name up the leaderboard! And no shock to see Mike and John up there, except for the fact that they weren't in the top spot for a change. Nice job Will and Frank, and Pat and Rob are animals any time they're in the mix.
Last but certainly not least, major kudos to the winners as that was a tough field to top!
