Federation Region 8 Lake Change
Federation Region 8 Lake Change
Due to unacceptable lake requirements and issues, the Federation Region 8 tournament scheduled for Puddingstone on March 15 2009 will be changed to Lake Elsinore. We tried to negotiate with the lake staff but they were of the mind set of "take it or leave it" or "were doing you a favor". Thanks but no thanks. March is a awesome time of year on Elsinore. If you find them it could be 30-40 fish days. If anyone has any questions or wants to talk about it in detail please feel free to call me at 951-775-0928.

Aww.. what a shame..
Friggin LA county and the Pudd. Why do they make it cost prohibitive? Too bad, the lake should be going off on that date.

Why don't you guys go to skinner? It would be a pretty good bite.
Re: Aww.. what a shame..
Skinner has motor restrictions which eliminates about 4-5 boaters. Sorry, I thought about Skinner when this all started with the Puddingstone mgmt.

Its turned into just a Elsinore Bass Club Trny, With DVL Closed and with the state champ 12 hrs away whats the pointSchneider Fishing wrote:That bites. This went from being a pretty good region with DVL to two trips to Elsinore. Aghhhh!!!!
Not real sure what the problem is with the pudd, but you would think this would of been worked out before now
Also how do you get to just move a permit like this?? seems to me that it would be more of a pain in the azz to get a diff permit for a new lake then to just work it out with the pudd
I think this is a bad deal it shows that if there is any little problem this region will go right to Elsinore and thats not were I want to fish thats for sure

So Did DVL but that was picked for a trny not really a good reason not to go to skinnerMJNEMEC wrote:Skinner has motor restrictions which eliminates about 4-5 boaters. Sorry, I thought about Skinner when this all started with the Puddingstone mgmt.

Re: Aww.. what a shame..
DVL had the same motor restrictions as Skinner but I wouldn't have been a fan of going to Skinner either. I would have gone in any event. After all it's just about getting out and going fishing.
The Director, Mike, had good intentions when this region was originally planned. It's just a shame that things have worked out the way they have with problems with two of the originally scheduled lakes.
I am not bashing on Mike. I understand stuff happens. I'm just bummed.
I've seen the TD's job and I don't want it!!

Re: Aww.. what a shame..
Thanks Rob, For the support. I 'm doing the best I can with the lakes that are available, with no tournaments scheduled on that day and trying to maximize boater participation. I should have responded sooner but I just accepted a new job and my schedule has changed 180 degrees. Also After looking at the fish counts for our last tournaments there were actually less people who blanked at Elsinore than compared to Perris. It just takes time on the water to figure that Elsinore out. Besides it took 12 lbs or better to win each of the tournaments, LE and Perris.
Also it was posted that the Fed Region 8 was becoming a Elsinore club tourney. How about NBW using Perris for all thier DVL tournaments. WONbass doing the same. Lake Elsinore Bass Club has no bearing on were the Federation fishes its TX's. Our schedule and changes were discussed and approved between all the board members of the CBF. Yes we may have a several anglers who support the federation, but they also support NBW, WONbass and ABA.

Re: Aww.. what a shame..
I am not privy to the info in this situation, but Puddingstone has basically been trying to extort money out of every tournament org that tries to put on an event there. This $500 lake permit you speak of probably does not include the rediculous insurance coverage they want either...Todd Dunlap wrote:Pudd. cost to much.$500.00 for lk. permit?

Re: Aww.. what a shame..
$2,000,000.000 Liability policy for each event. which increases premiums by almost double. Other lakes only require $1,000,000.00 per event
