**PLEASE SUPPORT** - Putah Creek Launch Ramp Access Petition

Post by drlahman »

Hey Everyone,
We have started a petition to try to get the Bureau of Reclamation at Lake Berryessa to open for use the launch ramp at Putah Creek. You can see a copy and sign it at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/put ... ccess.html. You can also receive a copy to pass around your bass club and friends by e-mailing myself at drlahman@comcast.net. I will also be dropping copies off at the various bass shops in the area. We are planning on giving it to them when we reach 1000 signaures or by March 15th. Please support this petition. Thank You,

only reason I can think of is someone who has a financal interest in the pay for use ramps might not like it.

This would take a lot of pressure off of the free ramp at Capell Cove, also the few pay ramps that are still open.

I voted yes, BTW :) ... also signed the petition

To all those who signed so far, Thanks. We are off to a good start, besides all the online sigs, I collected 40 at Capell yesterday. We had a small glimpse at how its gonna be there on Sat. There was 3 or 4 smaller bass clubs plus35+ float tubers and other fisherman and the lot was packed. Boat recovery at one point was about 20 mins or more. We NEED more access to the lake.

97 online and another 75 or so in person. I'm shooting for 1000 signatures by March 15th. I plan on driving it to Sacramento on the 16th or 17th of March. Anyone who would like a hard copy of it to take to a club meeting or tournament, email me at drlahman@comcast.net. I will send it to you in pdf format. Just make as many copies as you need to. When the sheets are full contact me and Ill either give you mailing address or get with you somewhere to pick it up. We are making a good showing so far, thanks everyone for your support.

Try adding this to some of the local Kokanee boards and trout fishing boards, you will get some help there.

Ask the Kokanee boards if they know where to get more boards to post to. A lot of Kokanee and trout fisherman use the ramps so they would be happy with another place to launch.

All fishermen should sign this petition

Post by Jim Conlow Sr. »

I hate to encourage the rest of the people who use our lakes but it is totally stupid for people with any type of watercraft not to sign this petition

Not signing will simply cause additional crowds on our already over crowded lakes.

I am number 208

I want to thank you all for getting behind this. We are striving to hit our goal of 1000 signatures by March 15th. Just a reminder to all those who requested pdf copies of the petition to get those filled sheets back to me asap. You can send them to: Darrell Lahman 234 Cottonwood Drive, Vallejo, Ca. 94591

I went ahead and signed it but I wonder if everyone is thinking about the consequences. If the BOR allows use they will be responsible. They will have to maintain PortaPotties, trash barrels will need to be emptied, and somebody will need to patrol at least on a once in awhile basis. Somebody will have to check at night to be sure people aren't camping in there. I am all for improving access but even with a minimal fee charged, I am doubtful BOR will be receptive to this petition. Good luck, hope it works out.
