was rippin' and caught a nasty looking trout...it had blisters or sores all over it's body...................it was the nastiest thing ever. i might even burn my net!!! it looked like the fish roled over some oatmeal and it stuck to it's body and became open soars...what is this???
is there anything i could do as a angler to prevent these awefull spreads or bacteria?

When the water is warm there, some of the trout can pick up a good bunch of parasites. I think you will see less and less wormy fish as the water gets colder. Of course, I could be wrong, but it seems the times I catch them all ate up like that are usually in the fall and late spring, but not in the winter. Did the bass cooperate for you? I'm going over there today and giving it a try.

Conditions sometimes creat various forms of parasites. Then again it could just be a form of fresh water lice, which occurs in trout more that other fish. Bill K

We had it here last year at Lake Don Pedro......The kokanee and Salmon did not get it because they go deep.........but the rainbows were (yucky) DFG planted some 1000,s late last fall in in the winter that had some anti fungus treatment ??? This year we had no problem, but we had more water also.........
