Where do most of you have your Fish Finder wired to? The cranking battery or Trolling battery? Have you had any troubles in one spot or the other? I have been told not to have it hooked to the Trolling battery because it will heat up the sonar cable in the trolling motor. Is this true?
Thanks for any help?

Cranking Battery
Re: Fish Finder wiring.
Not too sure about heat issues but you will get electrical interferance on your fish finder if you hook to the troller batteries. Sometimes this can be as simple as a few vertical lines on the screen when you use the electric motor or it can completely black out your screen. Best to leave the trolling batteries to just powering your electric motor and the cranking battery for everything else. If you are worried about your cranker dieing because of all the power drain during the day, get a good dual purpose battery for cranking and you should have plenty of reserve for your other electronics.

Bump**I just want to see if there are more opinions on this?
Re: Fish Finder wiring.
Definitely the cranking battery, or perhaps even an isolated battery just for accessories. DO NOT hook it up to your trolling motor battery bank - I'm not aware of any heat issues, and doubt that to be true, but you want to save all your TM power for the motor itself.
